there are some flats but they seem to be few and far between
I know some of the more knowledgeable will be here shortly to suggest places

not sure what one considered high heels, I made some shoes that I do not consider high heels, but they do have a heel

(I see some that are SUPER high hehe)

here is a pic of the ad for them so you can see what I consider not high heels LOL
(they are not super high, but still I guess somewhat of a high heel)
(now I am intrigued if I can make a pair of flats LOL)

Hi Brandi!! I sure know what you mean. When I first arrived, I couldn't believe the choice there was for high heels and the lack of flats. From the top of my head, I would check out Shiny Things and Jeepers Creepers (I'm not inworld.) Also, there has been a few threads on flat alternatives - try searching the forums using Search. I'm sure someone else is bound to give you a few other suggestions... Good Luck! :)

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

I found a pair of Topsiders recently in Free Dove, but oh boy, they looked terrible once on. I was bummed! I'd been searching for exactly this shoe for ages and was so psyched to find them. I wonder if they can be altered somehow? I'll have to check and see what the permissions are on them...

I do have a really nice pair of low fancy sandals I love, no heel at all, totally flat. In black and gold, and silver and gold. They were freebies too, can't remember from where, I think from the store itself. I'll have to check next time I'm inworld - they are from one of the better shoe stores, I remember that much.

You beat me to it Isabeau. I would highly recommend these two places. Their shoes are amazing, they have great casual styles, and I am sure at Jeepers many choices aren't high heels. Good luck in your search Brandi!

do you mean a sneaker type (sorry I am not a shoe person, so naming styles of shoes other than high heel and flat leaves me clueless LOL)

not sure what you mean.... oh!
what about penny loafers LOL remember those? now that is one I should try to make, wonder if I could...

I would recommend Heliconia too. It has some shoes that aren't high. And you can demo them all... Hehe.

You can buy great Doc Martins at Preen and they have like 16 patterns. I have worn mine for years. I think she calls them something like Doc Webers. :)

You can also find a nice selection of non-high heels at K. R. Engineering.

Just a bit ago we had this great thread on where to find sneakers, mentions places for other flats: /327/dd/221956/1.html

I bought a couple pair! I noticed while at Tickled Pink (never did find the sneakers there) that they had a few good flats/low heels too.

@Elora: For topsiders, see this thread, it gives places for sailing gear in general, and has pics of the Topsiders at Virtual Creations/Muse: http://slsailing.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1504

There's some other ideas from Mari on where to get sailing gear here:

Got a pair of what looks like Vans....called Strut Monkeys, I got them from when Bubblefish was in the old store, before they moved to their mall, back in the back left hand corner, don't remember the shop back there. They're great with shorts, jeans, and I've even worn them with some casual skirts and such. Great little slip on, black and white checked sneakers.

You might try Bubblefish. I remember them having some nice every day shoes. I could be wrong....I haven't been shopping in ages...

It isn't my boat, it's a friend of mine, but next time we go out, I'll ask him if he minds an extra person on board (we haven't used it in ages actually, he's thrilled to have someplace to keep it other than his inventory now, although of course, it's using up prims for me, but hey, he's one my dearest friends, so no big deal!)

"Freak Boutique" and "Ohlala!" both sell "Mary Janes", the flat-soled shoes with a single strap over the instep.

House of Zen sells traditional Japanese Geta (wooden sandals).

Bare Rose have some flats, sandals and chinese slippers, often overlooked (by me, anyway) because the shoes and hair are by the mens section.

I have some lovely sculptie sneakers from Redgrave. I also have ugg boots that i got for free at gnubies (Indigo). Upstairs if you care to look. Bare Rose have some free uggies but they are not as stylish as the gnubie ones.

I love to shop too too much.

Jeepers Creepers has UGG style boots (they call the UGH) in many colors (all with a white sheepskin cuff at the top), for both men and women.

I just checked - they were from Lassitude and Ennui "Signature Sandal"

Oh, I love my "UGH"s from Jeepers Creepers!!! The only problem was picking a colour, so I got two pairs! Even thinking of going back for a third, heheh. The fun part is each one comes in three different lengths.

If I were to open up a business, I would call it FLAT SHOES & BOOTS, I'm sure I would make loads of money 'cause it's one of the 1st things I looked up in search. All that came up were stores that offered one or two styles of flats among many, many high pumps and sandals. I'm sure I'm not the only one who prefers dressing more casually,(never been a fantasy of mine to dress in heals.) We all come here for different reasons and like to dress our avatars in clothes we like...

I also have the Signature Sandals - Gee, I think I bought every single flat in SL! lol
