From: Colette Meiji Santa, can I have a Ponzi for Christmas? No sorry, Santa's all out of Ponzi schemes. He does have a Portocarrero scheme in his bag if you want that instead.

From: Uvas Umarov He said that you lied to him when he instant messaged you about him not being able to withdraw his money from your ponzi scheme. You said everything was going to be alright, which was a blatant lie. So he posted here on these forums stating the fact that you lied to him. Seems pretty simple to me. Except that never happened. I am very careful never to tell people things like that, as it would give them a false sense of security. I go out of my way to emphasize the risks involved.

Gotcha, you say you outlined the fact that the majority of the people investing in your ponzi scheme would never get their investment back, let alone any profits. My bad. By the way, Where IS the money that you go out of your way to emphasize the risks about?

I don't have the log of our conversation, but I'm pretty sure you are incorrect. I probably said I hoped everything would be alright, that I would do my best, and a number of other things. None of which mean the same as what you claim I told you.

*sighs*
- If you can convert the bonds to cash right now - they are worth that amount of cash now - If you cannot convert the bonds to cash right now, they are worthless now - If you can convert the bonds into cash at a future time, they are worthless now and worth the amount you get for them at that future time, if, AND ONLY IF, they are made convertable at a future time. The gamble is whether you can convert your "investment" into cash before the money runs out.
As far as I am aware financial services including both banks and investment markets in SL are at best PURELY ROLEPLAY as the agreements involved are not regulated by anyone at all.
At worst, I would suggest that any "financial business" that *promises* to pay "investors" interest, where the sole income for that business comes from future investors, is quite simply a pyramid scheme - a role played pyramid scheme.
The best finanical "services" in SL will always make it clear that you could (or more probably will) lose part or all of your investment. The bad ones don't tell you this at all.
MORAL OF THE STORY: "To lose one investment could be regarded as misfortune, to lose two investments is carelessness"
