Ya know, something just occurred to me.......... I wonder if these strong preferences have something to do with the chosen hair colour? As in .... certain stores are great for blonde, others not so great? I know a few stores that have been mentioned that I don't like because of the colours. Just a thought from a blonde

Can't stand Gurl6. Used to go there a LOT but it's just so laggy and so unorganized that I always regret TP'ing in.
I like Tickled Pink, Curl Up n Dye, and even though she's only got like 3 hairs, Eat Rice.

Zero Style, Naughty, and Simply Britnee. I'd say ETD but it's kind of the default for me.

Hey gang, is Zero Style the same thing as O Style? I've always seen it as O Style, as in "Oh." Same place, did they change the name, or different place?

I usually have black (or dark) hair and no matter how nice the hair looks in a different-coloured demo, until I actually buy it, there's no way to know if it will look decent or just a big black glob.

From: Rita Hainsworth well so far nothing for me...but im very picky, im also a famous hair colorist in new york city so that could have something to do with it...lol What im finding is the flexi hair is nice, but on the long shag styles there is no volume at all, everything is hanging against the face..not good for me. Also, the color variation is to subtle on some of the pieces..the piece im wearing now...Beach Hair by Lost Thereian isnt Flexi but it has a lot going for it...darker root area, and the long blond pieces twist and create volume. Im still looking though! Hi Rita Check out Tami McCoy IMO she has the best realistic hair in SL. Her flex is great and her textures. She has an outlet store on my island, Urantia or her main store I believe is Dixie Island. Good Luck there is alot of hair in SL!!

After months of searching I finally found my "perfect match" at RaC; the hair store is just across the courtyard from the skin store.
All other hair I have bought is from Calla.

Almost all my hair is from Gurl6. It's bogged down for a reason - Six is good, and her freebies & limited editions are good too! And she has a lot more variety than most of the stores I've seen. Everything is a matter of personal taste...

Some places, like Calico Creations, also have color demos. It's just in a generic style, but it give you an idea of the color before you buy.

From: Oryx Tempel So is it a zero or an "oh"? It's the word Zero or the number 0 In search I think it's the word, on items in inventory it's a 0.

Just a thought from a blonde I would think that has something to do with it. I really like Analog Dog's Red & Brown textures, but not their blondes. I do like GuRL 6 blondes and Calico Creation's blondes. Believe me, I have a hair folder each for blonde, black, brown and red, the only colors I wear. And they are broken down by style....long hair, short hair, updos & tails, medium length, etc. And inevitably, my blonde folder is almost entirely calico and GuRL 6, while my others are mostly Analog Dog and Sirena, with a couple of Calla's thrown in.

I'll go and check it out. I already have way too much hair - but I can't help myself. I keep thinking the next one will be even better...

I can only pick 3?

I like, in no particular order:
1. ETD 2. Cay's SkyShop 3. Naughty Island 4. RAC Hair 5. Analog Dog 6. Ingenue 7. Zero Style 8. Gurl 6
Of all the places, ETD is my favorite for the sheer variety of styles, price, and color. The texture is also really good.

Armidi - new favorite - got two great blonde styles last week - check out the updo with the front pieces hanging out...LOADS of compliment swhen I wore that one. Calla- love their frosted tips on the straight styles, also got a couple cut short dos Calico - My one all time favorite hairdo is from here in a strawberry blonde shade Naughty - colors not as realistic but some nice styles Girlz 6 - Lag Central and takes way too long to shop in there Analog Dog - nice darker shades, but I think the styles are too full for my Avatar face.

Just a thought from a blonde etd for me has a more truer sense of mahogany/reds than say gurl6...so does armidi(yes i do love thier hair even though i forgot to put it in my list ) where as analog dog has a nice flow, even though it does get lost among other alpha'd areas. i guess it all depends on what you want. now umm about that Sirena store ..lm please ?

re: teh discussions as to colors ... be aware that you can recolor and retexture any mod hair yourself. You can buy hair textures quite legitimately inworld and on SLX - some salons actually sell hair textures there. Then you can retexture a copy of a style you like however you wish. So if you have a very very favorite hair texture, it may be worth it to buy it and try it with styles you own. (Make a copy first!)
Of course this will not always give great results. Some stylists are very careful about placements of highlights etc. on their hair, or use multiple textures within a style, and anything you do casually will just look worse. But some simply create a set of textures and apply them to all their new hairs. I often have pretty good results with recoloring or retexturing; however, with some stylists I simply go back and buy all the colors I want, because they do it better than I possibly could.
