i'm sure they're still in there, Des. i mean, why would they remove the lag meter function?

/me continues clutching the 1.18.5.3 version with the Nicholaz viewer until my knuckles turn white
ETA: This is starting to remind me of EQ gradually "dumbing down" the game and constantly changing interfaces. Then people began developing alternate GUIs - some rather creative. Wonder if that will happen with SL. 2nd ETA: I wonder if they've gotten around to including a decent first-person view - not the clunky "mouse view" that LL thinks passes for first person view. _____________________

lag meter?
Isn't that something in the advanced menu atm? The pie menu drives me nuts. I click a spot on my screen, I expect my avatar to walk over there. Not some random menu to popup. And if I click my mouse and turn it, I expect to see my avatar turn around, or turn while moving - and if I right click, my camera to spin around my avatar. Why? Because that's how every single other 3D environment I've used works... |

i'm sure they're still in there, Des. i mean, why would they remove the lag meter function? Because they're idiots. It looks like they've removed the snapshot to disk command too. Thanks, LL. It's not like I use that all the freaking time or anything. It took eight months to ruin the UI? _____________________

LL needs to stop making changes and :
1. Fix the bugs that are out at present 2. Give avatars better mesh and improve appearance mode controls 3. Listen to the users and what WE want 4. See what other viewers have done, and add a few of the best features to this viewer THEN work on new features! Well thats what I think ![]() _____________________

I left my comment out on Massively, but...
Tools menu? Tools menu functions? I'm good with a contextual menu, and I know there's a bright shiny build button at the bottom -- but where's all those functions? Am I missing "show/hide selection beam," "show light radius," etc.? Oh, and this is not a 2.0, aside from marketing. It's a bit much to call it that , and exactly like AOL 4.0 and 5.0 were marketing moves. _____________________

..... I'm not sure they warrant an entire 6-8 months of development time though. ... _____________________

Looking at the photos again, it looks more like a service pack upgrade than a full 2.0 many new features and fixes upgrade lol
Granted a few nice changes but, not enough to warrant a 2.0 status _____________________

Does anyone understand the roadmap now? How does 2.0 fit with the current mainline client development, and with Snowglobe? Who the heck is gonna take on release management and the nightmarish merge(s) ahead?

I think there's a lot of projects I'd rather have had them do first. The new looks and button locations seem okay to me, but I don't expect I'll be doing any cartwheels for excitement.

Is this a new game or an update of the existing one? Waaahh!! It's not a game! Meh, by the time I get around to it, it'll be changed anyway. *Pats her Cool Viewer..the Luddites delight. _____________________

More coming out about this -- it might not be a current "2.0" project, and may well be a dead development branch for all we know.

i see the options for saving to disk.. the 5th box over they are there http://media.taterunino.net/sl2/sl2-menus1.jpg I must be missing it, I see the advanced options for it, but I don't see the CTRL-` "Snapshot to disk" command. Maybe they've hidden it. I hope they haven't removed it and forgotten to remove the options. _____________________

I must be missing it, I see the advanced options for it, but I don't see the CTRL-` "Snapshot to disk" command. i always made my choice in the snapshot options..maybe they pulled out the hot key for this and you have to choose there.. who knows and why they would do that really doesn't make sense either..maybe it's sitting with the upload option on the inventory.. bleh..no pie and everything moved all over the place.. BLEH!!! just Bleh!! lol _____________________
