Based on recent experiences with some residents lately I can't imagine it can possibly be more than 13 years old.

I can't see how anything can really be said for certain. I mean... are you going by premium users? Or by credit card data? or what exactly? There are a lot of unverifieds too and how old they are nobody knows.

You know, the fact that there are only 4066 teens in the teen grid makes me seriously question a) the existence of the teen grid and b) the claimed need for age verification. I would SO love to be able to meet up with my nieces and nephew in SL. I understand the reasons behind banning teens, etc - just wishful thinking on my part... I guess the fact I have teen nieces gives away my age bracket.

Looks like teens don't even CARE about SL. yvw! I once, during a time TPs were down many months ago, got stuck near the TG -> adult grid entry point where Blue Linden throws them a welcome party. Unfortunately, it was just after a teens birthday and talking with him was very depressing. Apparently the teen grid is mostly empty, a barren wasteland. The pics he shared that he had of his friends there showed mostly empty backgrounds.  Worse is they, of course, aren't allowed any contact or to bring stuff over, so their inventories/friends list are mostly wiped out and they have to use/share RL contact info to stay in touch (ironically, to shelter the youth from the new adult, the youth have to give their friend their personal contact info, LOL). From what he said, every friend older than he has given up on SL entirely at their 18th birthday. He was determined to be here on the adult grid when the friends he was taken away from were forced over too... Given the smaller usage hours for early 20 year olds compared to 40 year olds, I'd really imagine they are drawn to other environments and worlds rather than SL that would be more fun for them. I never understood why someone at LL had a desire to combine the grids, it seemed like a legal nightmare, but if there's that little usage of the TG... Oh! So the view of the adult grid from the 18 year old I mentioned earlier, when I asked if he was finding anything to do here? He enjoyed the combat areas of the TG, where they apparently behaved and played by rules to keep it fair and on a level playing field. He found the combat areas of the adult grid frustrating because supposedly the adults would set out scripted cannons and then go hide in a safe area so they couldn't be shot. Oh, the irony... _____________________
