This isn't about morality, it's about using your brain, not succumbing to knee jerk reactions, and accepting the repercussions if you fail to do so.

I was just wondering how the Abuse Report system actually works, and whether what the Lindens say when it actually comes down to 'Disciplinary' action, that they investigate the reports individually and even check the server logs is actually true.

In Chaise's case, you should delete the word "knee." He's violated a serious ethical tenet for both journalism and academic research (hard to tell which he's engaged in, not that anything he says can be trusted now), and seems quite pleased with himself about it.

So let them win, and hope that the Abuse Report actually gets that 1 in 1,000 chance of actually being seen through?

How much time do we really want Linden Lab to devote to investigating abuse reports? LL is grossly understaffed and not really equipped to handle the massive number of abuse reports it currently receives. I would much prefer they invest in engineering and development, rather than policing the grid. In fact, I long for the day when they no longer accept abuse reports, when they no longer kick or ban people - but instead have given all residents, including but not limited to land and estate owners, the tools we need to protect ourselves and handle griefers.

Do the smart thing, use an ALT and grief them back. Your now on even level with griefers as if you get banned it's just an alt, same with them, and you win!
