Pep (The benefit of the Hangout HUD is not advertised enough either - and when no-one is there most of the time there is no incentive to wear it.)

Got a Mystitool? If not, get it. It contains a helluva lot of valuable tools that make common activities in SL less tedious and more enjoyable. Once you get it, go to the Hangout and grab the Mystitool plugin. It informs you of who is at the Hangout at any given time, over your local chat console, so there is no need for an extra HUD spot taken up (specially if you are like me and all of your HUD spots are already taken up).

Organica and the Happy Clam folks are pretty tolerant; their events are pretty amazing and when I've been there nudity has been easily tolerated, not sure about guns. They DJ Trance music and do some really amazing particle effects.

And The Wastelands have really well organized raids and games going on regularly. IMHO everyone should have their Post Apocolyptic vacation home; I own 6 sims and rent a parcel there just to be there.
