dude, if you don't wear it then you won't know when people are arriving.
I do wear it. Occasionally someone appears on it. Very seldom before 10pm my time.

From: 3Ring Binder
i go at all times of day. right now it is evening where you are. so why aren't you there, hosting a party? maybe it is YOU who is misguided.
Again you are wrong. It is only 5pm, and I don't know about you, but I don't get home from my job until about 7.30.

And... I don't want this thread to turn into an advertisement or detraction to the Cartel Hangout. I already hold my opinion on the place and it sure as heck doesn't help the scope of my OP to see people going to blows about that one place. (=_=)

Please stop crapping on Immy's thread. While I'm not nearly as naughty as Immy(honest!), I wouldn't mind a few more 'it's ok to be yourself places' mentioned.

Don't let the question get lost. :)

You can hang out in the various 'never finished' builds of DeadRealm

The only rules are:
-Don't piss me off.
-Don't AR anybody or you get banned.

Is this grey enough?
Ooh... THIS sounds like a good adventure. =^-^=

The consideration is cool - but I wish you wouldn't. I don't want people to change their behavior just because I'm around. If someone feels topless for some reason, I have no problem turning into a prim or something if it means avoiding the squick factor - I do it all the time. I got mad and visited Zindra the other day, but I did it as a moai statue.

I just used your name as a kid AV I could think of off the top of my head. I guess you can call it the "German reporter" rule more than anything else.

And Immy, I hate for the Hangout to get much attention here. I do apologize for derailing your thread. I hope some of the posts have clarified things you might have had questions about.

Yes, but not in a deserted Hangout . . .

I was wondering the same thing... Although I bet I could find out :p
Also... how do you find out someone made an AR? The only way would be if they told someone they did it.

If it still works... Estate sims allow ARs to be mailed to the estate owner. (^_^)y

Because if you file an AR while on a private sim, the AR goes to the sim owner, not LL.

...or maybe the sim owner AND LL. Either way, the sim owner gets it.

I sometimes go naked at various venues but it would take a lot of courage for me to turn up naked at the Hangout!!!!!

Lexxi does. Ask her what sort of reception she gets. (My gosh, I don't know anyone who looks more beautiful and at home just in her skin than our favorite kitty.)

Immy,

There are a couple of BDSM places which are casual in nature. More of gathering and socializing than playing. But they don't draw huge crowds... seem more like the Hangout - smaller collections of open and inclusive "cliques."

I gather you want places where you can continually meet new people as well as be yourself without reproach?
^^ I had to filter through quite a bit to spot this post. Really, that says it all, yes. (^_^)

Not saying that I face reproach all that much, but, I find I'm often inhibiting myself depending on the place I'm at one way or another. It's difficult, in my eyes, to find a place where the "yes" rules outnumber the "no" rules ~AND~ find a crowd in that place. (>_<;)

As a result, I'm finding myself in a rut of giving up who I am to be in crowds ~OR~ giving up on a social life to enjoy myself once in a while. Maybe that is a good balance to many, but, I'd like to combine the two. (^_^)

I guess I've lost taste in pixel-bopping... Ain't done it in forever. But, that's going off in a tangent. (^_^)

/me blows the dust off Immy's sex balls ;)

From: Imnotgoing Sideways
Can girls show up topless and people simply say "o-hai" and start talking about just about anything without any pressure to RP, dress PG, gesture spam over the top of the DJ? (o.o)

Can guys show up with a 9mm in hand and be left to their own until they actually get annoying? (o.o)

I think I know what you are getting at there, Immah. I hate rules and if they are imposed on me I feel like taking off my pants. I tried to make a place such as you describe, and I am often found there talking philosophy with half naked foreign chicks, and the fact that others are sexing in the background sometimes adds to the existential absurdity of it all. Then again, sometimes it's just hot ;)

I kind of understand what Immy is getting at. When I arrived in world in Jan of 07, SL was a much different place. Not having any experience in any sort of online game or social environment, I was amazed, appalled and amused by so much, and I loved stumbling upon all of it in my travels. Even the stuff that made me shudder at first, would eventually make me chuckle as I moved on. But every day I logged on I would find so much stuff that made me think SOMETHING, and overall there was a sense of whimsey to the place.

Now, a lot of times it seems so , bland, boring and ......predictable. Even when I come across an interesting place, a lot of times it lacks people, or the people there just aren't as interesting. I'm not anywhere near Immy's league in "adventurousness", but I've really stretched my horizons in SL, and am just about up for anything in the name of having fun. It seems harder to do sometimes, the place is become as turgid and monotonous as the real world.

Or you've become desensitized. I know I have in many ways.

There is that too, I'm easily jaded in RL, so it would be the same here. Anyone figure out a way to get "resensitized"?

Sounds like a night out with Immy, perhaps with Lindal along protesting Zindra, might do it.
