Awww! cute puppy! Pat, pat...

That isn't a puppy, it is a savage badger hunting machine. It has also been known to kill a cured ham if one gets in it's way.

Gee, people, please!! Don't compare that troll to any of creations creatures. That is so insulting to them - as much as s/he is an insult to either gender which is why I refuse to address him/her specifically as any one sex. [And or any other human of other sexual preference and/or appearance.]

This whole matter of comparing him/her to an creature offends my sensibilities, and I must AR everyone who belittles gawd's creatures. Oh, and AR him/her as well for taking the name of badger in vain.

Wow, interesting thread. I'm glad I was lured in here to have a look.

I'd say this is a special day. I mean here we have what may the biggest ass, the biggest idiot, and the saviour of the forums all rolled into one.

How often do you get a chance to witness something like that?

On a side note, is it possible to be on the "moral high ground" and be a vigilante at the same time? I wouldn't think so.

LL would make this place change their name if they were in SL and wanted to stay on the mainland.

I dare you to click it.

I have heard that little boys are afraid of it before they've seen it for the first time.

What you described above is slightly different - it depicts children as having a sort of sexual life - but to me it would still be something I would censor against showing. Children do NOT need to be portrayed sexually in entertainment. There is no defensible reason for it. That society's standards have slipped to the point it's considered 'okay' is not a defense in my book. If you need a reason, it's because depicting children in any sexual context can pander to those who seek to abuse children. Why not err on the side of caution. (Before anyone says 'but it's part of life' - despite the obvious extreme example given above - so is taking a poo, but I don't want or need to see that either.)

The point of these examples was that they don't pander to child abusers. They may be puerile humor or coarse satire, but there's nothing about them that's erotic.

From: someone

But BACK ON POINT - since it still isn't clear apparently - the reason I took issue with the other person's posts is because they continually lumped in sex with children as just one more thing others do that some don't agree with, as if it is the same thing to censor adult activity as it is to censor acts upon children. It isn't the same, it will not ever be the same. One is clearly ALWAYS wrong - call that "blanket generalisation" if you wish, LMAO - the rest is personal choice between CONSENTING adults.

The other person's inclusion of 'force fantasy' in Second Life among that grouping is also wrongheaded because in actuality it IS fantasy play between two real life CONSENTING adults. Even if the people behind a sexual ageplay depiction are real life consenting adults though, it's wrong on the point it panders to/encourages acts against children, and presents it in a positive light.

I don't see how it's possible to assert that sexual ageplay in SL encourages acts against children in RL, but that forced fantasy rape roleplay doesn't encourage rape in RL. At least not as a cursory assertion without some deeper analysis to back it up.

For maybe 2-4% of meetings, the ones where there's no proprietary information or trade secrets being discussed, and where the probability of being interrupted by griefers isn't important. A product that lets you hold meetings on a mini-grid isolated from the Internet and any Internet servers, behind the corporate firewall, accessed via VPN... that would be a different matter, but Linden Labs doesn't have that product... even their behind-the-firewall solution isn't really isolated: it's a spinoff of the "open grid project". They *did* have a "grid in a box" under development in 2005 but these days it's OpenSim that has that market nailed down.

Such as it is.

Second Life is an entertainment product, if it's NOT distracting to the employees, even without sex, it's a failure.

Can we rewind to how we let the masses know these changes are about to happen?

The blog post has been wiped off the page by fluffy blogs about commerce and education obviously the direction SL wish to go....

(senses a scene akin to the Titanic..and yes there aren't enough lifeboats...but 'let them be seated by perversion..')

P.S. wasn't it the USA that passed a popular bill with a 'hidden' bill attached requiring all adult depictions to have a declaration/certificate that those shown were over 18? at a stroke destroying privacy/anonymity?....MSN certainly put the frighteners on it's then adult groups requiring this assurance....plus also forgetting there are other countries in the globe where routinely grown women have the bodies of 'western 13 yrs olds'

damn yanks !!!!!!
