What are your plans when the "adult content" policy is enforced?

With regards to the whole Adult search thing, I read somewhere, that in addition to having 2 seperate search lists - if you knew of the LM in Pornoland, or if you were offered a Tp to someone, then you pretty much had free access to it anyway. So what is the whole point of the age restriction thing anyway? Surely all that means is, you can group message your group a couple of times, and say "my store is now located in a new location - slurl....." Right now, it is so easy to be spammed with some adult LMs in PG sims as it is. Just because it isn't in search, doesn't mean you can't get there. Or at least that was my understanding.

I personally resent the denial of my choice to see or not see things deemed as adult. I always felt I personally was mature (at the rl age of 33yrs old) enough to see things that were not to my taste and walk on by. I know its because of the kids, that the changes are coming, but it is still infuriating.

Pornoland will make it easier, for kids to get their viewings of possibily unsuitable things, purely as it is more concentrated on Pornoland, as they will surely obtain the LMs.

A non-SL friend who was listening to my whining asked: "Is the new land merely like Prison Alcatraz but for Adult content?, and will it get an infamous list of names gathered in its archives, forever connected with it, of those who escaped and live in the neighbourhoods, flouting all the rules?"

My other half and I did the own a private island thing for a couple of years. Repeated billing errors and bad customer service caused us to sell it off and move back to the mainland. We have never regretted the move. Stress reduction alone made it worth it.

Assuming age verification is why your friends wouldn't be able to visit if you had land on the adult continent... You WILL have to mind and your friends WON'T be able to visit if your stuff gets reported as adult and the Linden agrees it IS adult. LL will approach the island owner and make him decide whether to set his entire island as Adult, or get rid of YOUR content meaning kicking you out. Adult content that's not in a private residence needs be on adult flagged land.



Yes, very much agree with that. There's a piece in my home sim for sale now that's protected on 4 (four!) sides by Linden road. A nice one a sim away thats protected on 3 sides, 2 roads and a river. Both are extremely quiet, no lag, beautiful terraforming, and the sims are originals so land almost never changes hands.
Point is, there's mainland out there that's every bit as good, and in many cases better than estate land.. one just has to do the leg work to find it. It's not like land in the highly desireable sims go up for sale every day. People horde them for a reason.



So do I My plan is to stay where I'm at.
After all this adult stuff gets going, I may decide to either tier up or drop some holdings to get a 1024m - 2048m plot on Ursula. It's all tentative because they've said the adult stuff kept in private residences is ok. That pretty much means I get the option to wait and see how it all pans out before deciding if I want land there.

I live on a 'Mature' sim and I tend to patronise sims of a similar description. I already avoid 'PG' sims since I generally behave like foul-mouthed trailer trash. So I guess there will be no immediate change.

However, the first wind I get of a kid slipping through the verification process *anywhere* in SL and I'll be on the next rocket to Blue Mars.

I got no time for shenanigans.

^^ This. I have a wonderful little parcel in the Sansara continent, with direct access to the road network and several sims of connected sailing. Can't get that on a flat square sandy island. I wouldn't move for the world.
