Day .. just tried Trim .. but all I'm getting is 'waiting' for everyone in my friends list (their keys are showing) .. and they are all offline though I know (from the SL page) that a couple are online). Would this be a problem with my work firewall?

Is Trim supposed to be doing group chat now?

I'd try sending some messages: I'm pretty sure they're still on the same protocol as the key2name responses, so if one or the other works I'd be certain it wasn't a firewall or something. Sorry I can't give expert advice there :/ Maybe all of the key2name packets got dropped due to network saturation. If you have alot of friends and it requests their names all at once I guess it can be alot. It seems weird though, the requests should all be marked reliable, so if the library is working right I think the requests and responses would have to have been dropped 3 times. Anyway it's a reminder that I should add a timer checking whether there are friends in the list with no names.

It's supposed to work right if the group IMs you first, but there's no group list for if you want to start an IM session with a group. Also I guess it doesn't properly request to leave the session when you close the window.

I feel bad this thread is so much about Trim now and I haven't worked on making it good. My excuse is feeling really down and trying to avoid being broke. If by any chance anyone wants to send patches, I can't tell for sure but it seems like maybe Google Code will let people enter an Issue and attach a file, but you could also send patches to my email (gbrandon@gmail.com) and I'll put them in, or maybe a notecard would work too.
