You don't think that SL would be a great place for this bacteria to breed, and gather momentum, simply because people can 'do whatever they want'? And they can't do 'whatever they want', there are certain guidelines in SL, as in the real world, and as we all know 'brodaly offensive' material is not allowed. You may not find it broadly offensive, but I'm sure a lot of holocaust surviver's, and their relatives, would. so, because you are offended, by some group, who by the time this particular thread is over with, will probably gotten some sort of in world warning to change the name of the group, we should all gather the flaming torches and pitchforks? i don't have that kinda time to worry about what someone else does with their SL. that's their choice. too many are looking for things to be offended over, that in itself i find offensive. as long as they follow the ToS, they have every right to be here. irregardless of how offensive it is. besides, it could be just a sex thing.

Am I taking something out of context or missing something here? I'm generally in a foul mood today for a variety of RL reasons, so my sense of humor is virtually non-existent, and it's entirely likely that I'm misreading you comments entirely. If so I apologize. Could you clarify them? Um, slavery? Jim Crow? Indian policy? Eugenics? (it was a lot more popular than you think!) Politicians who have to GO BACK A HUNDRED AND FORTY YEARS to find a civil rights champion (let's just Ban the name "Lincoln" every time race is in the news, Alright?) "China laws" forbidding Orientals from settling in the interior? "No Irish need apply"? Small southern towns where people say "Oh, the blacks? they just all moved out is all" and don't even know there was a localized ethnic cleansing at the turn of the century (Oops! No one knows much about that bit of ethnic cleansing ... despite it happening in hundreds of towns) Now, don't get me wrong - for the past 60 years its been much, much, much, much better ... but where is our sense of history on all this, let alone shame, apologies and reparations? Why did it take Virginia until 2007 to apologize for Slavery, and when will South Carolina, or South Dakota in regards to the Black Hills, apologize? Are there different rules when its institutionalized over generations as opposed to 12 years? |
