if the event is being hosted in order for you to generate business, then you should not use the forum cartel notice system.

if you are having a party simply because you like your build and want people over to enjoy it with you, then yeah.. THAT'S a party and should be announced... ONCE.

i LOVE my new little mall. i am there a lot. but it's lonely. i might have a party so i can enjoy the ambiance, and share it with others. that there are stores nearby is inconsequential... espeically since most of them rent for free.

if you are hosting a social event, then it is strictly a social event. anything underlying is trickery, and frowned upon.

all the stuff I left behind was returned ina cube to my lost and found, but I wasn't able to recover most of it. Teach me to be rash and impulsive.

Group Notices can be used by any group member to announce non-business related social events (party at my place, we are getting married, etc...) and to do an INITIAL announcement of a new business/venue. Group notices are not for announcing business/venue promotional events or to advertise in any way.

Group IMs can be used for the same type of notifications, as well as being used to actually announce the FIRST ONE OR TWO events at your new business/venue, but please no more than an advance IM and a 'happening now' IM.

I just have to say that what started as a whinging post has resulted in all us all putting our heads together and coming up with a workable solution for everyone. I use to deny there was a "community" feel on these boards.. this thread has proven me wrong. Nicely wrong
