on a serious note, when i log in NOTHING works and im stuck at 10, 10, 10 and cant see anything, including my freinds list and the surroundings

On a serious note: did you try logging on to another Sim instead your home location? And of course the clearing cache routine might help.

Usually when I've gotten that, it means I'm on a really bad connection. It never happens to me at home, only on the network at the borin' place.

the networks ok at the mo, i am SUPPOSED to get virgin media installed today but there so fuckin useless, fuck em. i guess i have 2 keep using this random connection i can pick up on the wireless

it seems pretty fast tho (2MBit) and the signals ok

normal SL client works on the connection but crashed ALL THE TIME, the RC never crashed b4 but now it doesnt work

Man, Chaos, find a hobby that doesn't involve computers. Or any sort of technology. And not anything involving people or companies that might have anything to do with it.

In fact, just sit in a quiet room with a box of tiddly-winks. Please do not blame the manufacturer if one refuses to land in the target.

The key word was wireless. I've had some good wireless connections with SL, but I've mad more bad ones. If it's a "random connection," I would assume it is someone down the lane you're feeding off of, and who knows what troubles this would cause for the quality of your connection.

Chaos, I cannot see how SL can be any fun for you given all the problems you have. If something in life caused me that much grief, I would not do it. Have you thought about There.com? It seems to be a simplified version of SL -- maybe simplified is what you need.

2Mb isn't fast, you're hijacking a random connection wirelessly (what if the person you're leeching from is busy downloading movies or whatever?), and yet once again, you blame LL. Have a word with yourself.

Chaos - you have a bad connection. It's not LL's fault. Again, not LL's fault. Coming here and cursing Virgin or LL or SL or WoW or the Pope or Al Gore, inventer of the intertubes, or anything else will not help. Please stop. Can you give us a break? I have to go with the theory, 99% of what Chaos post is BS.

You should realize that by being on an unsecured wireless network you may be compromising your computers security and everything that you do on it and have on it.

Just imagine is someone got his SL account information. Why, they could drain his bank account with dat sorta information, I bet!

And it's funny that although LL is "stealing" your money, it's apparently okay to piggyback on someone else's internet connection they are actually PAYING for themselves.
