I think they made a feeble attempt to make people believe they were going to do that... but they got off track and are back to giving us features and policy we don't need while ignoring all the long term problems that need to be fixed.

Well, LL has to make progress sometime. Let me once again advance the revolutionary idea that LL make transitions like this easier for residents by giving things away. Y'know, like every other business on the planet when they have to forklift upgrade their product?

Anyway. In this case, they could make the new avatar mesh available for creators to develop new product lines and templates well before they intend to release it for general use. Then, before releasing the new meshes to the general grid, LL could buy (yes, pay RL scale for the designs) some of the better templates, shapes, skins, system outfits for distribution (nice little incentive for creators to do a good job) and put them in the library for 6 months or so. Savvy avatars will move a copy of all of them to their own inventories.

Another great thing to do would be to have two system clothing folders, one for old mesh outfits, and one for new. I'm assuming that the two meshes would co-exist for a while.

Avatars with money will begin buying new creations as soon as they become available. You know and I know that this will give many many avatars great joy

p.s Gabriele, to be honest, your sig (and a few other folks') IS omg-my-carpal-tunnel big. Lovely pics, but ....

For a better* avatar mesh, I'd gladly redo my entire stock that's currently on sale. And I'd gladly leave the new mesh remakes for sale "at cost" meaning, upload costs only, usually around L$70...

Not really sure how to respond to this Nika, what exactly are you saying? They are big, this I am aware of and always have been. Are you trying to persuade me to go smaller by mentioning it? People with carpal tunnel syndrome should not be even using a mouse, let alone the mouse wheel.

Why don't we all name the other people who some feel have signatures that are too big also? Wouldn't that be fair? I mean, it was necessary to tell me, even put me on ignore in one case? So shouldn't they be told too so we all know who they are? Maybe we can all put them on ignore en masse then? No, doesn't work for you?

So far as far as I know this is the first time anyone has complained about anyone's signature for size around here. The practice has been going on for a very long time, more than a few do it, there are no rules or limitations prohibiting it and this is all based on a few people who have a dislike for seeing large pictures repeated (what we would call a personal preference in fact) and yet nobody has mentioned it to them publicly like they have to me in this thread. I have even been called an abuser. WTF?

Why is it that the moment I put a couple of images in *my* signature, do I get jumped all over? Someone enlighten me because so far it just seems that people are holding some other kind of grudge against me (which is fine, certainly I expect to make some enemies in life, even a Second one) and using this stick to beat me with. If people have a problem with me then either have the backbone to air the actual grievance or stay quiet, don't hide behind petty crap like this instead

That some small number of other people also have big sigs doesn't mean it's good for everybody to have them. Most people put some thought into it and keep them small.

Back on topic, I'd really like more land-owner-but-not-estate-owner controls. I've seen the stats bar say that the number of active scripts has increased by *THOUSANDS* as people TP in but unless I'm really, really watching, I have no way to tell who's being a complete and utter jerk.

Dunno why, but I have never had signatures turned on since I joined these forums. Guess they must default to off. <.<

Most are decent or at least not in your face.. Pet JIRAs, flickr seems to have a function where it will generate a smallish pic with your last 5-6 uploads on it, silly sayings, etc..

Nah, there was a rash of complaints over a year ago, and a few people made their sig ads smaller. (Des, I think, and Nyoko).

Don't let it get to you, if you're in love with teh big sig and Ceka loves her kitty pics that much, *shrug*

I tried to mention it in a friendly way, just 'cause it came up, and I wanted you to know that (whoever mentioned it first) isn't the only person who notices.

Fwiw, I find the Snapzilla "my latest pics" sigs - a few folks use them - sighworthy as well. Personally, I never even SEE snapzilla sig pics, I identify it as a Snapzilla sig and scroll fast.

It's just that ... we see them EVERY time y'all post. That sorta dilutes the artistic and advertising effectiveness.

I have the AdBlock Firefox extension installed. If someone's signature has an image I don't like, or if there's a forum avatar I don't like, I just block that image with AdBlock. That way I can have images on and still not have to see any particular image I don't like more than once.

I believe the same function can be served in Internet Explorer 7 or 8 using IEPro. Opera has image block built in, if memory serves.

and/or adblock... but, ever since switching computers, i've forgotten to deal with using it. i've gotten pretty good at self-filtering... (plus, as far as forums go, i really like google ads. i don't click usually, instead find it laughable, some of the things their engine has decided has relevancy...)

Has anyone been noticing the lack of growth? I have copied and pasted the logged in data for a while now into notpad and there is no growth...





I find it funny they dropped the total residents info after all the complaints about bots and alts messing up the numbers... maybe thats what they been working on for the last year.. Things seem just as laggy and broke to me as they did last year...
