Some of this harkens back to the feminism angle. If you don't fit into the definitions of "The Movement", you an outcast. Isn't the point to give us the freedom to choose whatever we want to do with our lives and bodies, or are we to follow only a certain path? I remember in college, girls being scorned and derided by some in "Woman's Studies" for WANTING to get married and have a child. Or several children. Wanting to be a houswife and raising a family was inconceivable.

Nowhere have I read any unbiased scientific study that shows RP'ing in a virtual world being a direct cause or secondary cause to an actual crime committed. Association alone does not prove causality.

We are adults here in SL, we have the choice to decide for ourselves who we associate with and how we chose to associate, as long as its within the TOS and CS. Trying to get LL to change the TOS and CS to include a subjective criteria is IMO *ridiculous*. By their very nature subjective rules are impossible for LL to police consistently and fairly.

To those on the tangent of the horrible things people do to each other around the globe, what exactly does that have to do with SL, LL and this online virtual world? I think most of us agree that these are horrible things.

So far nothing discussed here has changed my mind about the ideal that consenting adults should be allowed to do what they want.

It's Roleplaying: you play a fictitious character with her own goals and viewpoint distinct from your own. If you're creative enough, you can make any character work. Remember, Shakespeare always had boys playing women in his plays....
