annna...I asked Clarissa to post this, not because I wanted to embarrass you, but to point out that you can look up these transactions in your own account. Go to "My Account" at the main web page. Then click "Transaction History" from the left-hand menu list. You can display up to 30 days of transactions. If you scroll down the list to 7/22 and 7/24, you should see the mirror image of these payments that Clarissa made to you.

When you find them, you might consider apologizing to Clarissa.

This has gone beyond ridiculous.

One thing you might not realize, Annna, is that many of us know Clarissa through the forums and inworld, and that she is an even-tempered, positive, and very helpful person.

Many of us give money to newbies to help them buy dollarbies and just to be nice, but I have never given anyone as much as Clarissa has given you.

If you can't apologize and thank her, you could at least drop the subject.

I never thought anyone could supercede Jumpy's postings until now.

A lot of people prefer to not give that info because sometimes judgments are automatically made based upon a person's age -- I can fully understand that reasoning.


I know lots of young people who do not want to divulge their age because then people will automatically think that they do not know anything because they have not lived enough yet.

Regardless of your AGE, your comments definitely show an immaturity.


I think there is no problem as long as everyone respects each person's choice in this. Anna seems to be trying very hard to convince people of why they should divulge whatever info she is asking for rather than respecting their right to not do so.

Anna I posted question marks because it's your reactions I don't understand. I haven't done anything to provoke this type of response.

I'm used to people who speak English as a second (or third, fourth) language and I think I understand your posts as far as your meaning goes. It's the intent I grapple a bit, in understanding.

I'm not your enemy. I don't know why you would think so. Maybe take a look at some of the posts you've sent my way, though, and ask why you'd want to say that.

If you are referring to my bringing up the money I sent then I apologise for that but I'm trying to reconcile actual facts, with how far you've gone out of your way to berate me. If you mean why did I reply in this thread, because it's a forum, and most here reply with their thoughts in various threads.

It is the nature of forums in general for an originating post to receive replies of various nature. Some people will answer your questions, some will question why you ask, some will offer their own opinion of your question or their opinion of you asking a question. And every post in a thread, whether from the Original Poster or someone else, is subject to the same random type of responses.

That is how forums work.

If you cannot handle a direct negative response to something you post, then I suggest that you maybe not post at all. I do not mean that to sound mean, but to simply protect your feelings if they are that delicate.

This happened to me too. Someone who I was very close to figured out my RL ID based on some very basic information (my work, where I live) that I chose to share. This person shared the same stuff, but the difference was I didn't then decide to do a Google search in order to find out who they were in RL.

After the "4th wall" was breached, for me it was the beginning of the end of our relationship as it was. We are still friends, but that invasion of my privacy definitely changed things. I don't have to worry about this person being a stalker or anything like that (thank goodness !) but it has changed the way I relate to others now; even those who are close to me. I will NEVER do that again, as I have zero interest in meeting a SL friend outside of SL. I know some do enjoy that, and I can't say I won't ever want to, but it's highly unlikely. I'm not in SL to broaden my RL friends list.

On a side note: I was also raised that asking too much personal info, especially from someone you haven't known for very long, is rude. *shrugs* It may be generational, as some others have said. But when someone I JUST MET starts asking me a bunch of personal questions, it really squicks me out. I usually assume that person is younger and of the "My Space" crowd.

Yes your right sable, I should respect their right to be private, but because I am the kind of person i am I say to these people "that's just paranoia, meeting people in SL is actually much safer than meeting them in the pub in real life", don't you think that some of the people, well actually most had the same opinion too? maybe its something about me that moves them on in their life, I don't know! Anyway all this I'm private person I don't give my details out is bleh!!! I can't argue against it I know, it's wouldn't be fair.

A couple of years ago I made the grave mistake of telling someone inworld what town I was working in and mentioned that the unnamed hotel I was in was the only one on that side of town that had wifi and it was in the bar. (I have periods where I work away from home a lot).

A few weeks later I had a very creepy encounter with someone in that bar as I was sitting there doing the online thing - oddly enough it was the only time out of all the years I've had to sit in restaurants and bars trying to get wifi when the hotel doesn't have it.

I don't need to go through the details but it was pretty apparent that I met the dysfunctional human behind that particular avatar. Make no mistake, it was a surreal and creepy encounter.

Before SL I never used to lock my front door (and I live in London) but now I do.

Jumpy is a saint....compared to this. I am shaking my head and wondering, does Anna realize that what Clarissa posted, is proof that Clarissa sent her money? Does she realize how she's looking? Dang........I came THIS close to sending her money, myself, and didn't. I'm so sorry Clarissa, you are being subjected to this, but wow am I glad I didn't send her money too.......what a nut. Then she changes the title of the thread to 'Closed' with a wink, as if that's some kind of order to stop posting. Yeah right, lol I'm sure she WOULD like us to stop posting after she's been shown up like this. (((Clarissa))) Whoever said no good deed goes unpunished, in this thread, was sure right.
