I'll pledge one thousand Lindens for the prize. My conditions:

I'll match any&all other pledges, (minimum pledge 100L for me to match it), up to a thousand Lindens, for the winner of this contest.

I would PREFER that someone be able to win even if everyone was properly identified, the winner would be the one who got the least 'votes' ... but I'm not going to get into the judging. I'm just gonna put my money up and abide by the decision/concensus/edict.

So, c'mon, gang... I dont' give unless you do. We can make this a $L2K night for someone!

Pending management approval, of course.

Yup...sounds to me like it's time to make a new alt...
And I'd be willing to contribute some funds to this as well - I like the idea of everyone not being themselves.

Actually, I'd like to offer a prize to anyone who can get people to think they're the alt of someone else, NOT themselves...if you catch my meaning.

Example: Brenda coming as an alt, and convincing everyone (through subtle subterfuge) that she's the alt of Lexxi, or something like that....

So, if votes are given, and someone who got the most votes for being another main, but not the right main, I'd like to think they deserve a prize as well.

...and a $10L prize to the first person to out themselves purposefully...

The standing challenge:

I'll match any and all pledges of $L100 or more, up to a maximum of $L1K, to be given to the contest winner as decided by an independent judge.

No other pledges yet received.

I guess that was a thread killer?

No donations?

OK, I pledge $L500 anyway. Someone else decides who wins, but I'l contribute the prize money.

...wimps.......

What a great bash. Could not ask for a finer or more welcoming group of folks. If I wasn't so inept at group chat I'm sure it would have been more apparent that I was having a good time even though I was stuck to my stool. Truth is certain members of my household look down my dancing in SL, kinda like John Lithgow in Footloose...

We've got a nice little community here, despite the fact that we don't always agree on every issue. Perhaps the 503 crisis brought us all closer together. Perhaps we always were a bunch of kind-hearted souls who come to this forum to help each other. I like to think so...

I do want to thank everyone who came by last night. Everyone seemed to have a great time. The night was mostly clean, well except for the man love two forum posters found. The music was good. The ladies were all lovely in their fancy dresses. Of course we did have the age old problem of not enough men to provide all the ladies dance partners.

The party last night was what the Cartel and the Hangout are all about. Everyone was welcome. Forum disagreements and arguments were set aside and the bonds of friendship were forged stronger.

I want to thank Feline Slade for all of her hard work organizing the event. She worked very hard trying to get everything right and the night came off without a hitch.

It was great seeing Ray pop in and the lovely Oryx made an appearance. Two regulars we haven't seen enough of lately in world.

The next event is an Alt party being organized by Claire and Stormy. Watch the Forums for details.

I was unable to attend the party due to prior obligations but I was able to stop by for a couple of minutes. Feline did a wonderful job. The music and the atmosphere were lovely. I wish I could have stayed. Although I missed this one, I'm definitely planning on representing my main at the alt party next month!

Last night looked wonderful, for the few minutes I was able to get in - the Hangout looked tremendous, and the regalia of the participants was splendid.

Feline, you are marvelous - thank you for all your effort and patience!!

(sadly, I lost internet connection after having made it to the party...got to stay for all of 10-15 minutes)

And once again the Mean Spirited Clique myth has been dispelled. I could not attend, but it sounds like it was the usual Hangout good time. Kudos to the Hostess.

I think that's partly why it's a good community, the differences of opinions. Despite claims to the contrary, most of the regulars here are individuals with a wealth if knowledge who express themselves in thoughtful and entertaining ways.

It was a great party, thanks Feline! The DJ was faboo, and it was really nice to see a lot of new faces enjoying the Hangout. And everybody looked smashing!

Even tho nobody asked me to dance, I had a great time. I think it was because I was just TOO intimidatingly cute. Yeah. I'm going with that.

About last night:

Thank you for those who organized, cleaned up and decorated
Thank you for all who attended, for your sparkly conversation, your kindness to each other, your acceptance of those who are daring, your generosity in all things.
Thank you to my favourite guy for a magical evening
Thank you for those little glimpses of drama that let us remember that there are real people behind the pretty avatars.
Thank you for making that floor go away.

Mostly, thank you to those who created and shared that comfortable slice of SL to begin with.

B.

Late logging into the forums to thank everyone for coming and making it such a wonderful event last night. I actually commented at one point, "Look at all the happy people!" It was wonderful seeing everyone enjoying themselves. It was especially wonderful to see some of the members I get to see so rarely dropping by. All of you are what make the Cartel the amazing group it is.

Thank you to every one of you for making it such great night!

Thank you to the organizers, who gave their time so that I could have fun.

Thank you to the ladies, whose beauty and wit are always a treat to the eye, ear, and mind.

Thank you to my dance partner Stormy, who is INDEED 'perfectly quirky' and in addition to the things mentioned above felt grand in my arms and made me feel like several million Lbucks.

... and thanks to Ray for the warm friendly parting remark that started us on a long round of egg jokes.

I got there a little late, but it was nice to finally visit the famous forum hangout and to be able to put a face to some of the regulars. I arrived just in time to enjoy the last hour of DJ Edward Pluto's sweet music, (I hope I got the name right). Was my 1st Hangout visit, 1st couples dance, and 1st time ever seeing a one legged dolphin. All the men and women looked swingingly delicious, and everyone was very kind and welcoming. Thank you to the organizers for all the effort you put into this event :)

I went to a marvellous party,
I must say the fun was intense,
We all had to do
What the people we knew
Would be doing a hundred years hence.
Dear Cecil arrived wearing armour,
Some shells and a black feather boa,
Poor Millicent wore a surrealist comb
Made of bits of mosaic from St. Peter's in Rome,
But the weight was so great that she had to go home,
I couldn't have liked it more.

We really need more men at these things, never enough dance partners for the ladies.

I'd also like to second a BIG thank you for the new floor. Whoever did that, gets right on my holiday/birthday gift list.

Thanx to all who were kind and to soji for letting me step on his toes. I went back later and found out that a kilt party had indeed started..I was a stand up comedian for all of 5 minutes and then went shopping.

Thanx to Feline for the wonderful pics and to Claire for being such a flower of a hostess.

To all the men..thankyou...for wearing socks and not wearing wooden bananas and to all the pretty ladies who allowed me to grill them on where they got this or that.

and of course Thankyou to all for being so Kind and real and accepting.

I'm glad I got to stop in for a short bit near the end. From the Flickr pictures it looks like a lot of new folks popped in. Hopefully all of you will come back lots.

Yes - we need more guys, always.

A HUGE thank you on the new floor!!!! I prefer to decide for myself when someone will see what is beneath my skirts.
