Resident Answers community party?

Fabulous! This is going to be a blast!

My understanding is that regular formals are still very much appropriate for this party. The music will be Big Band and therefore that is an optional dress style for any that wish. If I make it to the party, I will be wearing a formal that is not necessarily specific to the Big Band era.

Yes, please, there aren't that many 40's stores in SL. If people come in costume, half the room will be wearing the same dress!

Why are the parties only once a month? or something like that. Not necessarily 1 month apart, but in different months. I think. I know there was a halloween party in October. A Christmas party in December. A New Year's party in January. This Valentine's/big band party coming up in February. What happened to November? And this March is Alt party. Of course I'll probably be out of work by that point, but that isn't the point, the question was why once a month?

Sorry, I've been cut off from the internet for a while now and rambling idiotically while I watch the red light slowly inch down the clock at the library telling me how much time I have left. Ack, must leave. *whimpers*

I think it is because we find a reason to have a party. I would love to have a party just 'because'. They tend to be the most fun too.
We should have more randomness parties, 'Hey its a Friday! let's have a party!'
That sort of thing.

Mainly because the group was such an informal thing at first. The first get togethrs were "Hey, come to my place now" and the Hangout is sort of in that vein. Also planned events require PLANNING, and usually group officers would do that, and we wanted it t be a place where anyone can throw an event anytime they wanted. The space is there, use it. So, anytime someone wants to throw a party, have at it.

Usually a gathering at least once a week reaches Party status, so in addition to the so far Monthly planned events, it seems to be going well.

Well, today is Friday. Let's have a party. I'll be at the Hangout at some point tonight I'm sure. Who's with me? Maybe we can have trees and stuff. Or things that spin around. Or people dressed in weirdly shaped avatars. Bring donuts.

I've never been - today could be the day!

The once a month is for planned "event" type parties. They do give people something to look forward to and lining up music can take some doing. So once a month seems to be the right balance for them.

As has been said, random, "Hey come on down XXXXX is drunk and dancing on the bar." parties do happen quite often.

Anyone can call or plan a party at pretty much anytime there is not one already scheduled, even then as big of a plot as we have, we could run two parties.

I'll definitely drop by to help encourage a Random Party. However, since I know what happens when you go AFK at the Hangout and I still have to finish packing for vacation, I will probably be popping in and out there.

I'll bring some cheesecake.

By definition you cant have enough slutty wear on for more than one person.
It would cease to be slutty wear and instead become a tacky version of the "layered" look.

You could always volunteer to plan one...

Doesn't the New Year's Eve party count as December since the majority of its hours were in December? Or is that splitting hairs?


Once a month (if that's what it is turns out to be) wasn't necessarily purposeful, I think. For whatever it's wroth, the New Year's Eve party kind of exploded out of Christmas evening at the Hangout where everyone was talking about their formals, and then suddenly, everyone was wearing their formals and comparing notes.... and someone said "we should have a formal party here!" (And then someone else said, "Good idea. You plan one!" I highly advise people who don't want party planning duties to keep their mouths shut. lol)

I think that these parties end up growing up more or less organically out of suggestions that occur. This upcoming party was sparked by a comment Brenda made during the New Year's Eve party. And this alt party, well, we can see who instigated that.

If we ever get a live band, I have a stage I can donate to the Cartel for use during events.

Soooo .... is this party actually happening tomorrow? The invite went out so early, just wanted to be sure.

Question...how many alts can one main have?
And are we going to have an informal ALT party tomorrow?
And if it is come as you are, I assume that means show up only after 7pm? I am usually nude, well my alt anyway.
And I like the Idea of a guessing game on whose alt it is.
Can we donate L$ for the winner? Winner being the only one left who was able to keep their main identity secret...payable to the main only of course.

but of course I am referring to ideas for the March alt party...I am hoping for an impromptu ALT party tomorrow, just to get our feet wet.

Well, I guess I will have to come in my ALT the first of this posting the men were welcomed to wear skirts and I began shaving me legs.....now I see its an anything goes formal I can go with the unshaven verison

ummmm .... as you say, the alt party is scheduled for March, being organized by Stormy and Claire. I thought, as per the invite, tomorrow's party is just a regular dance party for regular avatars ... altho 'come as you are' could certainly include alts, if that is how you are when the party happens!

I would PREFER that someone be able to win even if everyone was properly identified, the winner would be the one who got the least 'votes' ... but I'm not going to get into the judging. I'm just gonna put my money up and abide by the decision/concensus/edict.
