From: MortVent Charron They pick the one that suits their views.
But they don't walk in to vote and get handed a couple bucks to vote for Bob instead of Joe. which is what happens with paid picks Oh stop it. People place picks because they want to. People vote a certain way, because they want to. When either issue is forced upon someone against their will, then the complaint is valid.

From: Ciaran Laval The important part there being "You're willing to do for the reward". The individual is willing, not forced. But it removes the value of the pick as being a favorite place , and turns it into a billboard. It also created the market for a new type of bot, pick bots that are nothing but pick farms for people for the reward.

They don't want the pick as a favorite, so they throw away the real value for the reward. It's like getting a couple hundred bucks so you vote for the independent in the election that you care nothing about or even hope doesn't win.

From: Toy LaFollette Please stop puposely being so dense. Once you are paid to place a place in your Picks it belongs to the one paying you, why do these places have so many stipulations to 'your' picks? Because they are no longer your picks. Im sorry if I cant make it any clearer Balderdash. People place a pick because they want to. How on earth can you not grasp this? The person wants to place that pick, this really isn't a difficult concept to grasp.

You are right on one point, it is ones choice to game the system and sell ones self respect, however it is still gamming the system. Its something I wound never do. I dislike seeing anyone game the system and selling picks is gaming... its your choice to let someone else tell you what to do with your picks for a few pennies, your choice to play into the hand of those who must try any way to cheat. But they are no longer your picks, you are told what to do so no longer yours.

From: Toy LaFollette But they are no longer your picks, you are told what to do so no longer yours. When someone forces me to place a pick, then they will no longer be my picks. I'm yet to see that scenario. Maybe it does happen, but it's not going to be via paid picks, it's going to be via businesses making it a condition of the terms and conditions of employment and even then the individual can decide not to work for that business.

The reward makes it a favourite. Nope it makes it an advert, not a favorite. It's like saying you eating garlic ice cream versus chocolate because the ice cream maker pays you a buck a bowl. You may love the chocolate but you're willing to suck it up and eat the other even though you dislike it immensely in order to make a buck. Garlic ice cream isn't your favorite, you're just paid to pretend it is. It's called lying to be honest about it. You're paid to lie and say this location is one of your favorites.

From: Colette Meiji I thought they liked the place because they got money. And then they changed their mind and decided the money wasn't worth it to place that pick on their profile. It's about choice Colette.

Now personal preference goes RIGHT out the window. ----------------------- You are cool with being paid for votes, but Unless you live in Chicago you only get to vote once.

The person BUYING the picks isn't choosing - the person BUYING the picks is Gaming the system. Manipulating the Search results , etc. Its the same concept as the Traffic gaming. You were not around for the world before camping so you have no clue how fucked up beyond all recognition the Search is now.

Your point was that they're not your picks when you're paid, I beg to differ. Why should I quote the whole post again, it's only a few posts up. If the part I'd quoted had been in any way contradictory to your overall point then i'd see why you're complaining, but it wasn't.

Its the same concept as the Traffic gaming. It's the same concept as camping, yes. I said earlier that it wasn't like there hadn't been precedents about such matters. From: Colette Meiji You were not around for the world before camping so you have no clue how fucked up beyond all recognition the Search is now. But that's where we are now. The system isn't going to go back to how it was in 2005, things change.

Yes .. we are arguing that some of the change is ROTTEN. We should be allowed to speak out about things changing for the worse. You would know they had changed for the worse if you had been there .. and thus my comment.
