One can get Multiple Warnings before one is suspended (I've seen this Numerous times) and One can get Multiple suspensions before being Permanantly Banned (I personally Know Two people who have had Two or more Bans and i might add have Cleaned up thier acts)

By the time a Perma-ban comes down the Pike for a Chronic Pain in the Posterior, S/He's probably Had Three or more Chances to Mend thier ways, and have Chosen to Hose down the wall with them.

If indeed the Chronic Offender is sincere, Has Found the Error of thier ways and Changed then i wish them well in whatever OTHER Platform they Choose to Continue thier On Line Life.
They've Made thier Mistakes, they have learned fro them, Now it's time they Move on, and get a fresh start Elsewhere, But LL gave them a Chance, and they Blew it.

I only ever heard about this once, from Robin. Of course, everything about the process was kept confidential to the participants, so I don't know how consistently it was used. I got the vague impression it was used in the appeals process, not for every ban, but I don't know that, nor whether it was used for every appeal. And no idea if it's still used.

With Governance having no office hours anymore, I'm not sure who one could ask. I guess they're all still somewhere in Jack's organization. The first thing I checked at SL6B was the Lab exhibit to see if an org chart could be divined from anything there (as it was last year); if so, it eluded me.

some bans were for acts like sim crashing intantly permanent. the reasonig i gathered from the g teamwas that they didnt want to ban anyone. tha warnings and suspenions were designed to modify behavior. but attck (global) against sl itself and certain frauds should be pnished. we r gonna explore this in our coming issue with interviws and a story on the "reformed" we wont reveal the permantly banned though or should we? (lindens will remove their alts if we do)

the other is actually an enemy who m we traced to the teen grid (google rox) this enemy a notorious sim crasher is affiliated with a school rl and is makin n roads onto the teen grid that is he and his school will teach there.

i mean i unno, SHOULD someone who is permantly banned in sl, make an alt an d slink around the adult grid and EVEN be allowed access to the teen grid?

If you're actually outing people instead of interviewing them, matters are a bit different, but still, you gotta becarefull with accusing people of crimes publicly.

It was a little more ominous than that, an anonymous pool of residents would help to decide who on the list of 14 day bans would get permabanned. I don't think this was a binding vote though. The old SL newsletter seems to have been purged but there is still a copy of LL's explanation in the wayback machine.

And yeah, whatever was governance does seem to have been quietly absorbed into support, and apart from a couple of fluffy recent blog entries there isn't much information available on who's doing what these days :/

from the comments of the "jury" there it seems they were only given things like dates and the contents of abuse reports, not enough to see if someone was falselly accused nor if there ware any, I forgot the word, it means factors that would make the crime less of a crime

Always glad to chat, Jumpy, but I don't want give the wrong impression: I was never involved with this resident review thing; I just remember Robin talking about it at one of her office hours. And I wasn't the one who raised the topic, so I probably wasn't paying very close attention, even. Maybe Ciaran remembers more from that meeting. (As you know, Robin isn't Robin Linden anymore, more's the pity. If I were she, I'd scrupulously forget any details of what happened behind the Linden event horizon.)

we were once friends. he told me that he was permantly banned for buring a linden under giant boobs and crashing the sim they were on at the time .

his pals at the avastar even mocked up a cover lamenting his passing. he returned with an alt and has been lurking underground ever since.

furthur he's told me time and again of his intentions of entering the teen grid and how I AM TOO COLORFUL a persona to be friends with if he is going to teach on the teen grid (LMAO). proof of his intentions are found in the education Linden's (i trust u all know who that is) groups email thing etc. so with a lil investigative work, a notorious griefer has been traced to the teen grid by slut magazine. plus i get revenge. damn right i'm outing him.

i despise hypocracy. my intentions are not noble. but my intentions aside. do YOU think this griefer deserves to traipse around BOTH grids after crashing sims on the adult one. assaluting Linden lab employees and yukkin it up generally for the LULZ. we'll see.

now that is spooky. ive been 14 day suspended so much but for themost obvious nonsens like cursing in a mature area lol. i imed zara and asked if she was on the resi team now she said yus and that deets would be forthcoming. that was months ago.
