Cool Places: Giant Rollercoaster at Tsukiji (very fun in Mouselook view). Also a place with free Go-Kart racing in a sim called Altstadt.
Cool Gadget: Anvil Dropper (drops an Acme anvil on someone's head, complete with the Roadrunner sound of falling anvil). It made me laugh till I cried. There is a blog that specializes in reviewing interesting places to go in SL, where you can get some ideas. Go to http://www.mermaiddiaries.com and click on the "Travel Guide" link. (In addition to reviewing places, she has some very useful tutorials and other info in the blog too.) ----- Okiphia, does that Oreo come with a glass of milk and a milk mustache? /me's stomach rumbles |

My weird one from almost exactly a year ago ...
Doing the new person thing of just clicking the map and tping to explore, I found myself at the base of the Empire State Building. Surrounded by ad farms and junk, but the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING! Just sitting there lonely. And when I got to the top, there was a basket of apples for visitors. ![]() I don't know why, but that cemented what SL is for me - a world of amazing things that people create, mostly just to create and share them. (((SL))) lol ETA oh favourite thing .... our bed from Paige Raven which is very beautiful *and* has a duvet that not only covers us for sleeping but makes its own self up in the morning! |

Cool place to visit: the Avaria sims (Grendels Children)...I can wander there for a while every time I go.
Cool gadget: hmm...I am really enjoying my emDash HUD...I can dash through objects, walk on water, or teleport to my camera or other avatars within range with ease. Along with lots of other cool features. _____________________

I just started 2 weeks ago and haven't found one place that really stands out to me but, i'm still exploring. the coolest gadget i own would probably be the laptop override animation as of right now haha. I am almost 2 years into SL, and I have yet to find something that stands out to me, enough that I would say it is very cool or whatnot and do not really have a favorite cool gadget that I cherish maybe I am tainted I dunno I just know that all it takes is for one person to pull the plug and all that would be gone the one thing I do cherish above all else in SL, is my partner, I met him in SL, and now am married to him in RL That is the cool thing for me in SL my one true love _____________________

(/arches eyebrow) Teasing...yes, that is probably the coolest find in SL - someone to share with. Still...gadgets are just fun!! _____________________

Cool place: the chicken shrine in Changmi, which sadly seems to have recently gone poof.
Cool gadget: my squeaky leek from Moony Cats (look for Hachu-Negi), best 20L I ever spent. |

Coolest gadget has got to be the bar sponge Incanus gave me. I've met a lot of wonderful people while swabbing down the Hangout bar. Coolest place has got to be Bagg End. It's mine and it's the place my fiancee rezzes. _____________________

I haven't really explored a lot but I really enjoyed the greenies sim. I also visited a phantom of the opera type place which was ok. I got lost though lol.
As for my fave gadget, it changes day to day but at the moment my fave is my mystitool. _____________________

time hud clock by time tech is my favorite new must have.....this places a small transparent clock with two time zones/countries on your screen so you can see your time and a friends time zone. I have mine set to New York City and my friend Veronicas time from Australia so i can see when she will be on. I say get it!

I found Inspire - with beach, space station, aquarium dancefloor and ice rink - a while ago, but it keeps changing and getting even better. Come t0o think of it, I must check whether it's still there.
My Mystitool is probably my coolest gadget, but I'm having a lot of fun with the free snowball thrower from Abranimations. They also have a free water balloon thrower _____________________

Hmmm...... right now cool place to go, because seasonal and temporary, would be Winterland, had a lot of fun there last night. Also Livingtree is full of wintery fun.
And live music venues are really cool places too *hint A few more recommended places to go in this thread:/327/1c/229319/1.html Favourite gadget apart from my trusty Mystitool, right now my snowball thrower and skates ![]() _____________________

For me in 3.5 year history the most significant SL changing place I visited was the Ivory Tower of Primatives. To my mind this is still the most fantastic way to learn to build in SL. Totally self paced with actual primative models to guide you.
The most significant gadget was my texture organizer. In one day using this thing my inventory went form 25k to 3k and my lag nearly vanished. There are many makes and models on the market now so I wont list a specific one. One suggestion though is that although the multi panel ones are very nice because you can see more than one texture at one time they also tend to be pretty laggy. Try and find a single panel one there are a few on the market. Alot less laggy. |

I can't narrow it down to one place, I have a handful of favorites, and every so often I find a new place that amazes me. My favorite gadget is my avatar. Without it SL is possible.

my favorite place independend on mood, time of day, or the "weather" (the state of the sim): my home on mandhari island.
favorite gadget: also several. most are boats. sailboats. the newest usually being the currernt favorite, closely followed by the fastest and the prettiest, in changing order. other fav gadgets: my HDCC viper custom harley, and my type-7 convertible. that puts any place with usable roads and/or usable waterways pretty high up the favorite places list, i'd guess... |

Still a newbie with a whopping 3 weeks of experience.
Black Swan was the strangest and most unique I have been to so far. My favorite gadget is a flying construction platform. It is just a big slab with four seats. My other is an attack helicopter given to me by Taz. I gotta get some instructions on how to fly it. "G" _____________________

There are many amazing sites and places in SL but the most atmospheric has to be Nexus Prime...It scared the heebeejeebees out of me.
As for gadgets I can never sing the praises long enough of my TARDIS (I should say TARDISes as I have five different versions now) Its been home, transport and I wouldnt be without it. I own land now but there was a lot to be said setting up my TARDIS as temporary home over a sandbox...I enjoyed doing that and meeting the people there a great deal. _____________________
