Favorite place: the "Temple of Adfarming" that I just built in Dallows. Not because it's so fabulous, but because it's the latest thing I built. I'm always amazed at amazing builds and all, but SL would be kind of lame as a spectator sport, at least to me.

So, predictably, my favorite gadget would have to be whatever script I most recently hacked together. (Well, maybe not the latest in this case, since that would be the lame freebie skates I made for the ice pond there.)

Furnation! It's one of the few places I regularly go back to just to wander and hang out with people.

As for a gadget I'm not sure, the one I use the most is my pounce emote which lets you jump on people who agree to let you. I don't really possess many gadgets as such since I'm a scripter, so I tend to add functions in my avatar and such.

Currently I have a mistletoe attachment which is like a regular kiss/hug script but it works when someone else clicks my mistletoe.

The Straylight sim is great for it's unique use of lighting. And my two person swing on my apple tree. It's my favorite spot for sitting and talking to the love of my life, or just meditating on the sunset.

I am almost 2 years into SL, and I have yet to find something that stands out to me, enough that I would say it is very cool or whatnot

and do not really have a favorite cool gadget that I cherish

maybe I am tainted I dunno

I just know that all it takes is for one person to pull the plug and all that would be gone

the one thing I do cherish above all else in SL, is my partner, I met him in SL, and now am married to him in RL

That is the cool thing for me in SL

my one true love

That is sooo sweet - I love seeing things like this. I two have a SL Partner that I now live with and cherish above all of both worlds. :-) Isint love grand when you find that someone?

I think its just the best, As for places.. There are so many I could not pick just one.

Cool place: Greenies. I think the full name is "Greenies Home Rezzable" or something like that. Just go to the map and do a search for Greenies and you'll find it.

Cool gadget: A number of people have already mentioned MystiTool so I'll go with PrimDocker. This is a must-have item if you're going to do a lot of building.

Cool Place: Virtual Starry Night. I'm a Van Gogh fanatic and to be able to walk into some of his paintings is a dream come true for me.

Cool Device: Prim Docker. For building I love this tool. Saves me a lot of time writing down numbers and doing math.

You mean virtual STARRY night, Bradley? (It's named after the famous painting 'starry night') As a Vincent fan, have you seen Robbie Dingo's video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxVDVggLqsA

My latest discovery in SL is Crimson Shadow, a rezzable sim.

Favorite gadget(s): my mind, my hands, my pen tablet and my new PC.

I love the Silent sim. Great atmospherics.

My Mystitool is well nigh indispensable. TPing a breeze.

cool place and favourite gadget were updated on my list just yesterday and they are the same thing... next door to the Forum Cartel Hangout, someone has just built a large white dome. You have to find your way inside, but once you are in it's a scripted, movable planetarium!!!

Some guy from Japan is developing it. Blew me away.

Particle Lab in Teal and my HUDDLES :) Starax Wand comes close, but there are too many "No Build" places now to really get to use it much :(

Fav place was listed one of SLs' Top 10 to see, doesn't exist anymore
and wow ... I just have too many wouldn't leave home w/o gadgets to pin down a fav.

Actually I was talking to a scripter,
who does this cool tracer effect of your avie as it moves,
that I haven't been finding solid cool new gadgets lately, besides the mainstream
and I have most of all of those to play w/ whenever.

Yeah it's been there for several months now, it is neat. I finally went into it on purpose the other day. I did crash into it once in the Huey.

Coolest place = The October Country. It's a sim with a Hallowe'en/Lovecraft feel where they play old time radio shows. They've also built a creepy hotel and a little village from the Lovecraft books. I love the bridge near the cemetery. Stand there long enough and you'll find out why :) I think it may also be called The Haunting Hour. If you can't find it via Search gimme a shout and I'll throw you a LM.

Fav Gadget = My Hoboraft made by Arcadia Asylum. It's a freebie available on SLX. A home, boat, and soup kitchen all in one! I love exploring the waterways with it.

Also The Future and the crooked hose there.

I love my simple little freebie Valentine Flight Ring (like a flight feather).

I also put a butterfly emitter in a ring I wear. I like to stand around an ask, "Where are all these damn betterflies coming from." This usually starts a huge investigation.

Shelter Lost Lakes Balloon Tour (Free)
01-16-2008 09:28
Cool 'unknown' attraction....

Shelter Lost Lakes Balloon Tour

The Free Balloon Tour of the Lost Lakes area, which takes off from the Shelter in the Isabel sim, near the waterfront. The balloon travels along a self-guided course along 27 sims, including the Linden Anniversary Island (where new Teen grid transplants are welcomed). The full journey takes about 20 minutes, and it seats up to 8 people, so groups or couples are encouraged.

Located at Isabel (211, 211) :)

The Toxic Garden is cool but you need a fast computer to escape the ants. My favorite gadget right now is a teensy tiny skirt from SLut Clothing with a menu to change the textures and colors and alpha.

I've taken this tour - it was a blast. I did it with someone else, and we really enjoyed pointing out all the cool stuff you see. It's a great way to kill 20 minutes!

I just did that. A very pleasant, relaxing experience.

'til you get to the end and the balloon vanishes, causing you to meet a painful end on a rocky outcrop 50 feet below :)

Favorite place: Buddhist Shrine at Varosha - Just has a a beautiful serene feeling to it. Was built by a very dear friend of mine who is quite a talented SL sculptor and he really did an amazing job. Several stunning sculptures on this half sim location.

Favorite gadget: Definitely my Mystitool. I feel naked without it...lol.

Some really great places mentioned so far, but I'll add a couple more that have somehow slipped through the cracks, probably because they get mentioned so often on lists like these.

Lost Gardens of Apollo
Svarga (ok, it was mentioned once already but I have to include it. it's too good)
Bliss Gardens (i hope i got that name right. haven't been there in a while)
Caves of Rua
Deepspace (a specific part of the Rua sim that you can only get to by teleporting from the sign at the main Rua landing point) Start floating, hit mouselook, and play your favorite chill tunes for hours.

The kind of sims I dream about being able to build someday are all crap compared to any of these. They're all almost too good.

My favorite gadget is the Babbler chat translator. It's available for free, and even though it's not perfect, it will allow you to communicate with a lot of people that don't speak your language.

Gadget: my Mystitool. All my alts have one, too. Feel naked without it.

Place: Suffugium. Great place, great people, great music-and the cosiest sewers in SL.
