It is becoming a world unto itself and a place that is inclined to shun. A person I know even said in-world that they were trying to find their "place" in teh ignore thread. There's nothing wrong wit it as such BUT its purpose is a chat line and it doesnt seem at all welcoming or user-friendly (to people liek me and others).
I dont mean to offend here coz I do know that for many peopel its a friendly place to meet BUT it can formulate gossip and too intense a situation can occur. Its the "Coronation Street" of sl and I just not sure its a good idea for it IN forum. Couldnt it have its own place "in teh sun?" Its just like the clubhouse in-world - an excellent idea at the time but avoided now. Why not transfer teh time spent in teh Ignore thread at the clubhouse? Then everyone can feel a sense of sharing and group, raher than teh limited coffee-morning/coffee machine group (neither of which many of us dont "do". I am just typing and thinking here and its hard to formulate what I mean to say effectively but it really does seem a clique even if that is not meant.
I mean, you get a threader who gives a bit of aggro on other threads who comes "in from teh cold" on to teh ignore thread and it's a bit like "yeah, right that showd HIM/HER!" and everyone kinda "spluettering coffee on teh screen". That's what I mean. That's al realy.

I agree on all counts. I'd love to see RA become RA and a separate playground where we can have nothing but fun and frolic.

I must disagree- no one has "a place" and who you overheard needs to get a grip on reality. You or they or anyone, would be just as welcome in the Thread as anyone already there- new people come and go to it all the time. Sad if it is perceived as such but people will have to work on their own perceptions. As for the Club House- hmm- haven't seen it as a place to avoid either- last weekend people got together and went shopping and I know several were not even Cartel members. Myself I hardly ever go there but then I don't get out much.

Please don't ban teh- cause that wd lead to banning liek and I can't seem to get liek right no matter what- and don get me started on jsut!

Jig, I have yet to jump into the neverending thread. There's just too much going on that I feel intimidated. The obvious solution would be to go back some pages and read a bit to catch up, but I've been too lazy to do so. It may be intimidating but I have never seen a single sign of a clique in these forums. Sometimes people need to just jump in with both feet and get wet. That's what I did and since then I've been accused as being part of the clique.

I hardly think announcing a shopping trip for everyone and anyone to join in, is the type of action a clique would take.

So let me see if I get this straight. A bunch of regular posters form a common bond here, some people see it as negative, a clique, "taking over" whatever. Fair enough. So they pretty much take that into a solitary thread, with some exceptions, but for the most part keep their unacceptable behavior there. Now that isn't good enough? What the fuck do people want? It's a Goddamn forum for Chrissakes. Lighten up.

I will just stay in that thread from now on. It is far more welcoming than the rest of this forum is becoming.

I like the forums and most of the posters are courteous, helpful and nice. Sometimes a moderator is needed, though.

@ Bradley -- I don't even read back much more than a few posts when I miss a few days, I just jump right back in with whatever is currently being discussed. Tis much easier that way.


@ Others -- We have welcomed many in the thread and they have then "become part of the clique". Ditto with the forums in general. It is simply a clique because we talk a lot and get to know each other and so we sometimes make comments that others do not understand simply because they do not know the background on it.


Get over it - jump right in if you want to be a part of anything. I learned that early on in this forum - and I started out lurking and being very afraid to post and afraid of what folks would think of me.
