I was just experimenting to find out if it was possible to run GSA searches of Second Life without being on the Second Life client. So I tried the logical URL - http://search.secondlife.com/.

http://search.secondlife.com/ gives an apparently blank page, but if you View Source, you see it contains a single HTML comment. Which is..

Nice find! Well, consoles will get us away from hanging on our desks/laptops :p
hmm I was hoping for something bigger!... not that I know what that is.

I actually saw somethin where you will eventually be able to run SL on your cell phone. That would be kinda cool too. Not a full version tho I think....

Being able to run on a console would be pretty amazing.

Yesterday, I was inworld and one of my friends that was not logged on was sending me messages inworld. They came up through window chat. I responded but it said he was not online. Everytime he send me an im I would look to see if he was online. I meant to ask him when logged on.

the game designer in me finds this rather exciting. and also it would definately be very hilarious to see a competitor to the sony SL-clone on their own console.

it would be very interesting to see a basic consumer version of SL, though from what i can tell i really dont think LL would be capable of delivering that...

oh! that is prob a script, it talks to SL from their email and back and forth.
So they can msg you from their email, you msg back and get they are off line and they get it in email and msges you back.
One of my friends had a little box on their land and they could msg you and not be inworld, use to leave their email open and msg me when they were bored and done w/ work and we'd count down the clock.

That's what happens when one replies in email to IMs that are forwarded to email, right?

Not to be a spoil-sport here, but assuming we're talking about the SL5B "very important announcement," I don't expect *any* "big reveal." In some other thread I reported that Robin thought there were unrealistically high expectations for the "very important announcement" that Everett mentioned in his SL5B blog post. I gather "very important" need not entail "very big." (But then I would think that: I'm not very big. :p )

...PS3...
(O_O)..... \(^_^)/

Oooooh the graphics potential. (^_^)

I've already run SL on my big screen by running it from DVI on my computer. It was definitely a beautiful sight, but, I would need to get a TV tray for my wireless keyboard... Trying to type on my lap while relaxing on the couch did not make for happy hands that day. (=_=)y

I hope that SL on XBOX is not the big reveal.

I am hoping for something like an increase in sim prims from 15,000 to 20,000 or something like that.

MmmmMMmmmm primz :D

ya i have a hard time with those goofy controllers..if Xbox has a keyboard that would make it a little nicer of a thing hehehe

Also i wouldn't go by a little text found in the source code that is for a future link..
It just sounded too much like an add more than a reminder..

i used to type all kinds of goofy things doing html just to find some kind of enjoyment out of doing html and hoping someone would come a crossed it lol

"next real soon now"

lol, like how

like they are going to fix the forum?
like they are going to release a 2.0 client?
like they are going to fix transportation?
like they are going to move scripting to mono?
like they are going to fix anything on jira?
like they took almost a full 5 years to upgrade to a outdated physics engine?
like they took 3 years to fix local lighting?

Definitely a nice catch, Yumi!

My initial reaction is that stuff like XBox/PS3 will bring lots of fresh faces to SL. Faces attached to avatars carrying weapons. Then again, I don't know anything at all about stuff like XBox Live.

The mobile stuff like iPhone is something I'm not interested in but is something that other people have been asking for for a while now..

Certainly, it makes voice integration make sense INSTANTLY, because very few people type on consoles (I know you can type on both of those with extra hardware, but..)

I don't know how building would work on a console though. Maybe it won't. Maybe they'll even be locked into PG areas, because in many cases consoles have completely banned online sharing of content created on console games for that reason.

Shame it isn't on the Wii though. I understand why not, but it would have been fun to wave a prim around with the wand. :)
