Change of topic (because I can, and because I want to tell this story).

Saturday, I'm working at the village, and I notice a couple of green dots on my minimap. So I stroll down to the end of the pier to greet the visitors.

There's a man and a Neko girl there, using our diving board. This is fine, that's what it's there for. So I greet them and welcome them to Lebettu. The man asks me where I got the board, so I dig through my inventory, do a search, and give him the SLURL. Then we talk for a bit about my yacht.

Suddenly, I hear gunfire, and I find myself tossed off the dock and into the water. I'm a little surprised, but I jump up out of the water, and here's the guy a little ways down the pier. He's drawn a pair of guns, and rezzed a police car on my dock.

I can't imagine what I might have said or done to annoy him, but I think, OK, this is still all in fun, I'll play along. So I strap on my .45, load for bear, draw and let him have it. The Hydra-shok rounds act like a tosser, and are also target seekers...once you shoot a person, they keep finding him even if he TPs away and comes back. So this guy starts getting bounced around (not too much, Havok 4 reduced the violence of this stuff a lot).

I ask him if he's had enough. He responds by caging me in a tosser of his own (oops, I should've been dodging, not talking, I guess). So I TP out of the cage, click the land, and eject and ban and mute both of them. Game over.

But it really left me wondering...how did this encounter look to them? What went through their minds? It was just so unexpected.

The view from my front door. Stupid neighbor is always walking around shirtless.

Nice. OK...I'll play. My driveway, and Pontiac, during the Blizzard of '06 where we got 26 inches in one day. This was fairly early in the day

Wow, I had ICE a full 1/4" on my pond that day.

You have to ask a local. My best friend left after the hurricane and went back recently. He does not think it will ever be the same. :(

I would like to see it improve. We don't need more of the same. "CX"

Sounds like he wanted to show off for the girl and wasn't expecting anyone to fight back.

Sierra Vista does get a fair amount of snow most every year.

To me it sounds as if they had toys and they wanted to play with them and likely there was no real malice or anything personal int it. But who knows? You were nice enough to go along with the game for a while.

And out the front of my house for that 2006 snowstorm - that is my daughter's car we had to dig out.

Fixed the pic size - that is what I get for using a pic my husband edited and saved.

Same deal here. I can walk to the beach and drive to the mountains in about an hour. I can see the ocean from our front windows and the mountains from the back ones. Well we could always see the mountains when I was a kid in the same house - now the air is often too polluted - it's sad.

Kaimi, when I lived in San Diego, I lived 12 blocks from the ocean...heaven! Oh, the view and those ocean breezes...

My office at UCSD had a great view out the window. The one tree (in our part of campus) with leaves that would change color in autumn just happened to be right outside my window, so I could get my autumn fix each day! :)

You are absolutely right about how close the mountains are...if I was really feeling like I needed more autumnal foliage, I would just hop in the car and head for Julian.
