You have had a sheltered life.

The famous Cafe Du Monde is only ten blocks from my office. If I walk over there and back I have burned all the calories from three beignets and a Cafe AuLait. (i wish)

I have had a sheltered life! I have never been to New Orleans...:)

For those who like the dresses at Icing...(but boo hiss, you already have to be a group member...)

This week *ICING* presents Tradewinds, a flowing summer dress of indigo with a sinuous white print and twisted front bodice. This is a free gift to current *ICING* Update Group members, and the group will be closed for 2 weeks while the outfit remains in notices.

the story is a year old but i believe N'Awlins is recovering beautifully!
You have to ask a local. My best friend left after the hurricane and went back recently. He does not think it will ever be the same. :(

I love the dresses at Icing, and Miko was very helpful when I needed help adjusting one of the prim skirts. :)

that's a lot for the city.

i live fairly close to a ski resort. we get a lot of snow, but they get a LOT more  (obviously). they easily get 4-8 feet in one day, i'm sure. however, the most we've ever gotten here at this particular house (in one day) was probably 3-4 feet. that was an evil winter. also 2006 if i remember correctly.

Good morning all!

I like Trout Teddy!

I've wanted to visit New Orleans ever since I saw Easy Rider, when was that? About 1968?

3Ring, your place looks wonderful. City dwellers could lower their blood pressure 20 points by visiting you.

I can make KOTT tee shirts if you guys want me to. I would have volunteered sooner but I thought it was already taken care of.

i haven't been anxious to go to NO since the hurricanes. i'm sort of waiting.

i am pretty laid back actually... i don't handle stress & drama well, so i need to be in a place like this. :) it's very grounding and private and peaceful, except for the flatlander tourists. pretty far from big shopping, etc tho. it's a couple of hours from the city.

I'm actually about 40 miles West of the City in Jersey, closer to PA actually, but they got abot 22 inches in Central Park as well so yeah, it was bad,

I look dreadful in indigo, so I for one feel I've dodged a bullet there.

considering how the hurricane was handled, and the red tape that followed, no it won't. it will prolly be years before it fully recovers. but she's trying.

I love this area. I can go from seashore, to mountains to big city all within an hour or 2 drive.
