There's, uh, probably a lot of things you didn't know about lindens. Another, another interesting, uh, lindenism, uh, there are only three jobs available to a linden. The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

yes, for soem reason i pictured Clint Eastwood, when reading them, hence my hugh jackman choice unless he can talk Clint into doin it! and yes a few turns of the universe.

I think Clint Eastwood when he was about 40 would have been perfect. That's probably who King was picturing as he was writing.
Maybe Kurt Russel could do it if he could neutralize his personality a bit.

Not gaunt enough.
I can't make Kurt work for me either. I was trying to think of actors who have played cowboys.

Well a lot of King's books are pretty bad to begin with. But of his good books, like "The Green Mile" movies have turned out ok.

He changes his stories when going from books to movies because, as he said in an interview long ago, they are two totally different media. What works for a book does not work for the screen.

I think the problem in the 80's was that he was not directly involved with most of the movies. I always liked how the ones he was involved with usualy had him in a cameo.

nods exactly. i notice that when he maintains creative control, the movies turn out a bit better than they normally do.

I think for a while there he was just turning out some weak books.

I want a re-count. I think some posts are not being counted. we still need 30 something posts and I just happen to have a sack of 40 posts I "forgot" to deliver last night. They were all made by a guy named Chad. ALL POSTS MUST BE COUNTED!
