Is it me, or does this seem particularly hurtful, even for Pep?

Just his true colors showing through if you ask me.

Cornered animals will lash out.

However, unlike pippy, I am rarely "on my own", nor am I particularly chubby, in this life or any other. His venom is wasted.

Meh; I don't like hot or warm pickles, on anything. That just seems so wrong. Pickles should be cold and crisp, only. not warm and limp. I remove warm limp pickles before taking first bite. That sandwich in Buffalo sounds awesome.

Who said anything about warm pickles? They go on right before eating, they don't have time to get warm.

I SO want a burger now.
Of course, I'm not about to spark up the barbie and so the only alternative I'd have is to go out for one. Which, unless I sit at a restaurant, means that the pickle will be warm and limp by the time I get it back here! Oh, the humanity!

I step inside The Thread and inhale the scent of fresh but low grade drama emanating from some of the posts. It mingles with the heady scent of Mo's coffee, rapidly congealing culinary delights and sweet aroma of some of the nicer posts to create a smell that passes beyond description and has taken on a kind of half-life of it's own.

"Some things stay the same, some things change.", I think to myself as the pungent smells permeate my clothes, hair and clings to my skin and I think that perhaps they have dimmed the lights here a little too. It suits my eyes better I notice.

Looking around I find and greet each and everyone of the folks whose names and faces are familiar to me with a warm smile. "Fabulous, to see you", "I hope things are well with you", "It has been a long time" and "I never thought this old place would still be open".

When the greetings end and I make my way to an empty booth. The upholstery is now faded and thread bare but comfortable and familiar. I don't mind it at all as I slip in and stay for a while to drink in the atmosphere.

Flicking idly through the vanity picture magazine and casually toying with an Amelia bear that someone must have left accidentally on the seat at the back of the booth, I listen for a while at the banter going on around me. I glance at the book of recipes I can never truly enjoy and smile sadly to myself. Even the mug of coffee some thoughtful soul brought over to my table can only be savoured for it's warmth and rich aroma.

I realise I have stayed much longer than I expected to. I slip silently and unnoticed out the way I came in. "Farewell, my friends", I think wondering how long it will be before I return again and whether it will still be here if and when I do.

/me sits in a corner booth unnoticed as tears well, but don't spill. It's just nostalgia, for friends still treasured, but seldom seen; many simply faded away, some driven to more hospitable climes...

Nice to see you, Gabs. :)

If you can tolerate the lag from the massive crowd, Truth has marked all hair in the back room down to L$25 per color pack. Note that it is currently laggier than usual here - much much worse.

Just pull up the map and search for Truth Island - the TP point drops you right in front of the store. If you want to get to the back room is less than an hour, detach your HUDs and drop your draw distance way way down.

ETA -- I have no clue how long the sale lasts.

Because my mood is growing bleak and tomorrow is looking darker. If I do not get some angry sex time alone with a certain person I may just take it out on the world.

he just became overemotional for a sec, and let his woman-hating show. it'll pass and he be back to his regularly scheduled high n mighty (but often wrong) douchebaggery before you know it.
I'm never over-emotional and I don't hate anything; it's such a waste of time. If it seems that I am misogynist it is perhaps because men generally have more sense than to antagonise me, whereas a vocal minority of "females" are lacking in judgment.

Pep (I'm never wrong where I'm in conflict with you and Eli, as Eli seems to have recognised by now, from his silence.)

Hmmmm....playing with that.........

"There is none so blind as he who will not see" would be correct, I think, or.......

"There are none so blind as they who will not see" would also be correct. or.....

"There are none so blind as those who will not see" would also be correct. I think. I also think that is the actual quote.
See Arielyn and Lil's posts which have gone over this ground.

Pep (Grammatically, you can justify several different constructions; I chose the historically recognised one - it's a non-sexist version.)

Pep, did you intend the singular "none" to be combined with the plural "those", or no?

...

Which is worse, life without pasta or life without bacon?

I know what Kaimi's choice would be. ;)
Actually I'm not that big a fan of pasta - unless it has a ton of tasty sauce on it I find it boring. I do best on a "Zone" type diet - 3grams protein per 4grams carbs. Moderate amount of fat, not that many calories. I totally went off the rails today though and ate half a pan of brownies in about an hour and a half.

Funny how those childhood experiences manifest in different ways. I adore meatloaf, we had it a lot when I was a kid. My husband cannot even think of it without gagging, for the exact same reason, a lot of it when a kid. I am starving after reading this thread but all I have to eat at my desk today is a tube of Pringles. :( This weekend though, my husband and I are (yeah now you can really get your 'gag' on) having soul food, we're in the mood for pig feet, blackeye peas, corn bread from scratch and buttermilk. :D So I will eat my Pringles today and dream of the weekend.......
It is funny how our tastes form. Until she died my mom enjoyed eating Spam once or twice a month. I think it was one of the things that stood between her and hunger during WW2. She also liked pig's feet, which I guess was a staple of her childhood in working class Britain in 1920's and 30's.
