Pep (I find you increasingly despicable and contemptible.)

I will laugh the day you are diagnosed.
I will dance the day you go under the knife.
I will cry the day you die because your suffering has ceased.
I will light a candle the next day in thanks to the goddess because the world no longer has to suffer from you.
You are a pustule on society and will die as such. Un-mourned and soon forgotten.

What you think of me means less than what last week's tampon is thinking. You are a liar, a dolt and have the force of personality of a latrine. Nothing you say can be taken seriously because it is saturated with dishonesty and wrapped in hate. You are a purveyor of bull shit trying to cover your ignorance. You are an ignorant leader of falseness with your self as the only subordinate. Your words are the flatulence of your blackened soul. You capacity for deception is surpassed only by the depth of your moronic idiocy.

And your mother hates you too.

Well, everyone, *this* is the viper you have accepted into the bosom of your Undying Thread. Are you all sure you want to be associated with someone who can think these words, much less write them down?

Pep (Thank you for demonstrating yet again that you are despicable and contemptible.)

Of course, your opinions are your own, but that does not make them correct in anyone else's eyes. Your soul must be terribly tormented to formulate such aberrant and unchristian attitudes.

The accuracy of your views, however, is risible. I do not hate, merely expose the hatred of others, uncovering hysterical over-emotion where it hides behind warped perceptions. You exemplify such weakness and now you have publicised the extent of your depravity, perhaps others will take heed of the depths to which such a thing can reduce someone.

The last thing I demonstrate is "moronic idiocy" (was the source you copied this passage from aware of the concept of tautology?) but you are quite welcome to join the ranks of the dumber than dumb blondes in that erroneous claim.

You *do* insist on laying bare your ignorance, don't you. I am the apple of my mother's eye, despite what your severely flawed remote psychic powers might be telling you.

Pep (With each post you make you are more despicable and contemptible.)

Pep, did you intend the singular "none" to be combined with the plural "those", or no?
As has been pointed out by myself and others, the two are not structurally associated grammatically, but perhaps the words used to explain it were too long, or the sentence too complicated for your poor little brain to comprehend? Have another example:

"There is no one (other than 3Ring, who is singular in this respect) as obdurately stupid in the forum as those lemmings (most definitely plural) who throw themselves over cliffs on an annual basis."

By your argument we would have just one lemming regularly throwing herself off a cliff - and presumably picking herself up,and climbing back up to the top again for next year's leap.

Pep (actually lemmings don't exhibit that behaviour as regularly as I have suggested but it makes for a good example.)

Death wishes in the Undying Thread? That seems unpatriotic.

I have a birthday in my house today (not mine). I will put to shame all talk of ketchup and gravy (and out of thread Phil's roast beef) with a massive batch of home made lasagna. I must get cooking.

ETA: Ok, I lied, I decided to have a coffee first. Here is a very patriotic photo I took for Day of the Dead, which is my 2nd favorite holiday after Halloween.

Welcome back from wherever you have been. Your equable temperament and unbiased eye have been missed.

so, does that mean you intended to mix the singular 'none' with the plural 'those' in your quote? a simple yes or no will suffice, for clarity's sake. examples that twist words, intentions and skirt the issue not needed here.

lol, just two slices of plain bread, add pickles...let the pickles be moist, don't pat the juice off...makes the bread a little soggy. :D

so, does that mean you intended to mix the singular 'none' with the plural 'those' in your quote?
It was entirely intentional, prethought, planned, considered and reviewed for quality control, because the singular subject ("none";) of the first clause is strongly and unambiguously associated with the singular verb ("is";) in the first clause but is not directly associated with the demonstrative relative pronoun ("those";) that initiates (and functions as the subject of) the adjectival clause that follows, governing the verb form that appears therein.

Pep (Got that?)

May I ask why you have preferred to express no comment on my response rather than the original post which provoked it?

Pep (Perhaps you preferred not to quote the original post, nor to be associated in any way with it?)

No...I just meant no comment to all the slinging back and forth. Wasn't aimed at you in particular ;)

ETA: Rhonda should keep her cool, it is wrong to state those things...remember the blow up last time...I am still ashamed of myself for the part I took in it :o

Pep (Got that?)

just because YOU split up the sentence doesn't make the quote any less a sentence. and in the same sentence, you should not combine singular with plural in this manner.

but now that i've finally gotten you to admit that you did indeed intend to use 'none' in the singular form, and you've even cleverly associated it with 'is' to verify that fact, i'll give you a little grammar lesson. none can be singular OR plural. so combining none with those is okay, but using "is" in that mix in the manner intended now throws the whole thing off kilter again.

no matter which way you slice n dice it, the originator of that quote wrote a grammatically incorrect sentence, which you have adopted and supported and rallied for. shame on you, mr perfect english. *coff*

i'm sort of done talking about this now. you enjoy carrying on, all by yourself. you enjoy that last word on the matter. it doesn't make you any less wrong. but it has been fun watching you dance. ciao!
