Josh, Brann, Brenda - really like the pics.

Mari - thanks for the update and love the sign. Make sure you tell us where your build is when it's ready.

Last night I finished reading a short story "The Dreamers" by Isak Dinesen (Karen Blixen) that is just amazing and has some relevance to SL. I can't tell you what or I'd completely spoil the story for you... there is a great very quotable piece at the end, but again it's a complete spoiler.

Then I picked up Caresse Crosby's autobiography "The Passionate Years" - she's another woman from the early twentieth century (like Anais Nin), and I am loving it. The first ten or twenty pages weren't so great, but now it's underway.

I'm suddenly reading a lot, and the reason is this: my mother has such a negative attitude toward SL that it really spoils things if I have to fight to be there, and I find she's a lot nicer if I sit with her in the evenings. It's nice for me too because sometimes she starts talking.

Usually though, she watches TV. But she wants me there. So I started sitting nearby, reading, and that seems enough for her. She can talk if she wants, she knows I'm not inworld, I get to read again, so... it's good.

OK...you've piqued my interest. I now have to go find "The Dreamers". :)

It's in a book called "Seven Gothic Tales".

Yay!!! Mari's weekend update is here. *smiles*

Can't wait to see your camp, Mari. *smiles in anticipation*

What's been exciting to me is that some of the RL "burners" have been coming by an really liking it, 'cuz it reminds them strongly of the RL stuff. Which was one of my intentions. :-)

It's in Burning Life-Granite, in the Northwest corner of the sim. When Burning Life opens, I'll make sure to post a SLURL about. :-)

So this is where I was last weekend.

That's Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.

Here's the boat I was on

Looks like a nice place, but inquiring minds want to know...

1) Yeah, the boat is nice, but tell us about that cool ROLLERCOASTER in the background. :D

2) You carry a purse, Eli? o.O

Haha. Those are photos I found in a google search. They are the same make and model... but not the actual boat I spent the weekend on.

Hi all! :)

@Eli
Oooh. Lake Winnipesaukee! That is a great area to spend the weekend. Nice boat...but... where's the sail?

The second pic looks like Meredith? Did you stay on that side of the lake?

And don't let the ladies pester you about your...erm...?man bag? ;)

Yeah...there are NO rollercoasters visible from the real lake W. :) I've been there enough times.

That's no murse/manbag in that pic. That's a purse, dammit. I am a woman (hear me roar) I know a purse when I see one. Who do we know that carries a purse? A real honest to goodness purse with stuff peeking out of it? Cause, why post a pic of a purse in the fancy schmancy boat if you weren't trying to reveal....something.......?

Josh n Brann both look great in those jackets.i went to go see if they had other colors last night (which was actually earlier this morning), but decided not to buy anything, even though i did see a great long coat i may go back and snag later today.

3Ring ... whatever you do, don't buy the same jacket as Brann and I. There was big drama at the hangout last night because of it.

So I waltz into the hangout last evening ready to show off my new Muism jacket and who is sitting on the couch looking all Pat Benatar wannabe rocker chick with MY JACKET - Brann Georgia. She's sitting there nonchalantly humming "Hit me with your best shot" pretending not to notice me, but I could feel the glare of her cold avatar eyes camming on me because I had enabled "show look at". Finally she says, "Oh nice jacket Josh ... but didn't you get the memo that flexi burberry scarves were SO last week?". At this point I'm thinking .. "Oh no you didn't gurlfriend", and I say, "Ya but at least I could easily afford it since I saw you picking lindens from a money tree just before you went to the Muism store." Well ... all chat immediately stopped at the hangout. You could cut the tension with a knife. Then she had the GALL to accuse me of having a prim hair weave. I then said, "Oh I just love your boots ... I just took a noob to Yadni's Junkyard and helped her pick up the exact same pair just last week." After I threatened to AR her for fashion crimes, ALL HELL BROKE loose and we had a big fight on the patio after she tried to slap me and I ripped off her prim hair and face light. It was a bad bad scene.
