No idea if you did or not. But that is where I got it from, yes. Despite all the hate for Lasenby, I rather liked that movie. And that song.

Not a bad Bond movie, nor a bad Bond -- though Lasenby really showed himself to be a bit of a jerk. I still like it better than the Roger Moore films, which are very corny t'me.

I put these up across the street, but I know some of you don't go there. These are especially for Koko. There as a knock at my door last night, I thought it was the Chinese Food Delivery Guy dressed for early Halloween. Little did I know I was the delivery:

yay! So adorable, sorry that the bunnuh has a Brenda fixation.. :) *huggles*!

Which place is the place across the street again? I am getting so lost...

Yah, Lasenby did some stupid pouting about money right about then. I try hard, though, to separate the actor from the character/performance.

Pep - you were being sarcastic about Louie Armstrong singing that song that was quoted?

You confusing.

Across the street? Here I normally hear that referring to SLU, and there I hear it about . . um . . here. I am not sure if anyone has said "across the street" about any of the other forums out there (including the one everyone currently flocking too, Second Citizen Mark II).

It is Friday for me as tomorrow is my flex day -- though my last one for a few months, so I'll be doing my best to enjoy it.

Leftovers tonight - turkey noodle casserole.

Yummm I love turkey noodle casserole!

I hope you can enjoy your day off to the fullest! :)

Went out dancing tonight - had not been out dancing in ages and forgot just how much I really miss it. Saw lots of old friends and had a great time. Going to work on getting back out on the dance floor at least once a week again.

Night, night all.

:)

I post . . . bad poetry. Do not read.

I have a bird
chased it down myself
but in a world
of limited shelves
I must devour immediately,
or there will be a penalty.

- - -
The bird in the hand, it is said, is worth two in the bush,
so I held the bird in my hand, whereupon it pooped -
the hand was grasping so tightly -
growls, trembles, and pushs
at that bush; glaring I grabbed another from the coop
and shoved it into the bush while madly blushing brightly.

Stared long and hard,
at that bush, wiggling -
Oh, so hard, waiting, so long, staring -
Where, oh where is that second bird, must I remain so long on guard?
Why must it tempt me so, I must be scaring . . .
- growls, hisses the kitty, as she hears giggling.

---
I shoved one bird into that bush,
shouldn't a second bird burst forth?
appearing ever so near -
the kitty waiting, whiskers twitching, wiggling tush -
tongue darting, so clear -
kitty watching, looking at the bush to the north.

Alas, alas, sweet birdie,
tweet for me, sweet birdie,
tweet . . . for me - alas . . .
the bird failed to tweet or move.
Pets the birdie, just resting . . just . . resting.
Gasps, sighs, alas, rests.

Ya. Performance was good, the person? No so much.

Haven't seen the new Bond, but I hear he's good. I still prefer Connery, though.

Lexxi... you made me smile. If a poem makes me smile then it is not bad poetry in my book.

Lazenby was on a hiding to nothing, and it was a real shame that he was given the most difficult Bond film of the lot, as Bond has to show weakness and fall in love for real, which requires acting rather than comic timing and a bunch of stunt doubles.

I would (*really* like to see OHMSS remade with Diana Rigg's daughter, Rachael Stirling, reprising her mother's role as Teresa De Vicenzo and a good actor as Bond, rather than a blond six pack.

I was pointing out the irony.

Pep (I love the song but it is so bitter sweet because of its filmic association.)

WOW!
That is amazing, I loved it!
(bad poetry is like bad art, it is only bad to some, awesome to others, but poetry (art) nonetheless)

Good Morning everyone! :)

@Lexxi: Great poem. :) I liked it.

I spent some time last evening with my new sony ereader and the new Dan Brown book. I'm happy. The display is crystal clear, and very easy on the eyes.

re: Bond. I do like the new guy. Danial Craig. He has that "dangerous" vibe, even when wearing a tux. And he actually looks like he is in good enough shape to actually do all the things Bond does. I kept waiting for Roger Moore to keel over, or throw his back out! :D But each Bond has good and bad points.

Jerboa, I'm with you on Daniel Craig. I think he rocks as James Bond. Sean Connery will always be James Bond, but Daniel Craig, as you say, looks as if he could stand up to the rigors of the job, and then some.

Roger Moore...well, he looked good in his tux in the casinos, but I never bought that he could do the stuff he was supposed to be doing.

Glad you're enjoying your new toy. :)

Nobody will every replace Sean Connery as James Bond. The rest are just imitations -- some better imitations than others, but still not the real thing. And he is even sexier and more alluring now than he was then.

Yes, but OMG what a first-rate misogynist fascist asshole he is in person. I struggle with this one: he WAS the best Bond, and he was kind of sexy, but what an utterly repellent man. :(
