Speaking of Cookware: My mother got jealous a few years back when I bought a Sunbeam Mix Master. $80 for a fancy blender....... just to mix up batches of foam latex for molds & castings.  Made the softest, fluffiest, foam rubber makeup appliances tho!!  That's some pretty darn good work, Tod. (um...skeery, too) Sunbeam...my mom had a great sunbeam mixer. All metal..none of that plastic found on so many models these days. I loved that mixer. You could take the cooked/drained potatoes in the pot they were cooked in, and just put in under the beaters...and mash away. When I went shopping for a mixer of my own...I had the dickens of a time finding one that didn't feel like a toy...all plastic on the outside. The only one I could find, at the time, was the KitchenAid...which is great...but it wasn't my mom's old Sunbeam mixer. And of course...after I plunked down my money for the KitchenAid, Sunbeam started making the full metal construction ones again.  OK...rant mode off.  I still think it's pretty cool that you made that mask with foam rubber you mixed up in your Sunbeam, Tod. |
