Funny thing is I was talking about that drink (Grasshopper, NOT Murray ) just the other day. There is a fancy schmancy restaurant nearby that has a very retro drink menu; serves things like that and Pink Squirrels, Harvey Wallbangers, Apricot Sours, etc. Things my mom and dad used to make when company came and would slip tastes to us kids. Ah! The good old days before we knew it was wrong to feel alcohol to minors

She had 3 or 4 of them before he cut her off.

From: Ghosty Kips Good morning threadies Very busy today, so I thought I'd bring you breakfast before I got inundated with stuff! LOL Off to temple inworld first, so I thought an Indian breakfast was in order. These are dosas, which are crepes made with rice and lentils. They get filled with chicken or whatever suits your fancy. Some people include strong coffee and fruit for balance. I need to get Elora out for some of this early one morning. Mmm dosas! Any sambar to dip them in?

From: Elora Lunasea Ah! The good old days before we knew it was wrong to feel alcohol to minors hoo, boy. Years ago, an older cousin, his wife and toddler daughter came over for dinner at my parents' house. Cocktails were had by the four adults while they were waiting for dinner. Unbeknownst to my parents or to my cousin/wife, the toddler was wandering around and finishing off the dregs of everyone's highballs. They realized something was up when she kept trying to do sumersaults in the living room...only to keep falling on her head, over and over and over. (fortunately she was OK) (this story was a great one to relate at her wedding )

From: Damien1 Thorne You shouldn't have been so mean to her. She was a good sport - for a someone starting a black list. From: Brenda Connolly I have about 10....count them, Ten...textures..... I have several million - very carefully organized. From: Amaranthim Talon Grasshopper walks into a bar.. bartender says, "Hey! I've got a drink named after you!" Grasshopper says, "You've got a drink named Murray?" hehe A very old joke - that just gave me a new laugh. From: Maureen Boccaccio ok...someone just sent this pic to me: Another good laugh.

From: Key MacMoragh Maybe English is not her first language? Even if it's very good... I'm very fluent in Italian, but I remember a number of times when everyone was laughing but me at something that was said.
And thanks for the explanation, Damien. I kept saying "Rundlelawn" over and over different ways, trying to work out what the heck the joke was.
But as my hero Karen Ellis put it, "I'm a girl, and possibly blonde." Rundlelawn is stated as her sl location in her profile alongside every post she has made and its obvious she is Dutch as she says that Netherlands is her rl location as well which makes it obvious why she didnt get the jokes about the stupid sim names because lots of the real sim names are stupid anyway and it isnt surprising that the suggestions didnt make sense to someone who didnt have English as their native language. Its sad how you Americans get upset when your English is criticised but you think it is funny when foreigners dont get your silly jokes which depend on language.

That reminds me of the culinary program Ghosty and I watched last night which took place in China. Andrew Zimmer (I think that's his name?) went to a restaurant which specialized in "penis" of all types. Yes people you read that right. Penis. Stop giggling!

Well, sort of in the reverse, we had a long, long security post once that for some reason reversed the first two letters of the Wade Giles version of Hsitsang. Every single instance. For pages. Not only was it funny on the face of it, but some of the sentences here and there were absolute classic. Probably the most read item of its type in NSA for the week. (Shows hold long ago I was there. PinYin is probably used everywhere now.)
