true story-

called the court to fix my boo boo, and instead of it saying i had to appear on Jan 14 at 8:30a, it said i "failed to appear, please hold for an operator".

and then......
clown music. warped, and slow, but definitely clown music from a circus.

as i giggled, i told the lady who answered the phone that "i found that hysterical, and that whoever set that up had an awesome sense of humor, and yeah i get it- i'm a doofus clown". LOL

her somber reply? "i just think it's creepy. your back on the list for April 1st. will there be anything else?"

ok, so i don't think it was HER sense of humor that set up the on-hold music for dumbasses who miss jury call. =\

If they had a real sense of humor, the people on the other end of the phone would talk like your Governor

IMy cats know they aren't supposed to be on the counters - when humans are in the kitchen. I just realized this picture was taken at the vet's. My cats hate going there - they try to slink under the big scales. And Jadzia starts projectile shedding.

my cats all seem to be okay with it except Jimi. from the first day i got him, we've been to the vet 4 times now. he's petrified of the place. of course, he lived there for (at least) the first 2 months after they found him, and i'm sure he remembers the smells and discomfort and misery of his horrid beginnings.

our vet is a woman, and she is generally tender but sometimes handles the cat - well, with great confidence. Jimi does not like that. so, we've agreed i'll hold him for things, and she'll do stuff 'behind his back'.

he has a great life now. and he has no discomforts or threats to give him woe. he is quite spoiled and loved and gets so many kisses that they are probably his biggest annoyance in life from now on.

my cats are allowed to go anywhere they want in the house, as long as they don't get caught. LOL

TY, I am proud of myself also...really wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Even though I never smoked in the house or car, it is nice not having to step out into horrrid weather for a smoke and the $$$$ factor...have lots of pocket money now

Good afternoon, or not.

Woke up with a migraine, blah. Me and 3Ring and I know a few others of you deal with this and it sure isn't any fun. Slowly getting rid of it, but it's been an unpleasant morning hence me just arriving here.

I took this picture at the Hotel Dare about a month or so ago the last time 3Ring was complaining about her headaches. Was going to post it for her but forgot so now I'll take my own advice (which I already did). BTW, the Hotel Dare is now gone, sadly. What a great build/shopping area that was.

Congrats Lil- been smoke free for nigh on three years now after smoking for about 30 myself

Put them down before they put you down. Husband spent 1 week in intensive care for a stroke almost three years ago- he quit because someone died in the room next to him and he had nightmares that the heart monitor flatlining he heard was his. I had to quit then since it would hardly be fair for him to quit and I keep smoking.

OMG! that's frightening!!!

Holy Crap! A US Air Flight just went down in the Hudson River after leaving LaGuardia. It apears to have run into a flock of geese and lost engines. So far it seems everyone survived, and they are trying to get everyone off before the plane sinks totally.

Crash update: Everyone appears to be off the plane, no serious injuries. Luckily it went down near 42nd Street and Intrepid. That is a ferry route, there are boats crossing the river every 5 minutes or so. There were ferries at the plane within 2 minutes or so. An FDNY Fireboat has the plane in tow, keeping it afloat. It looks like a marvelous bit of flying, kudos to the pilots.

whew! WOW! i haven't even heard about this yet, besides here. i better turn on the news. so glad no one got hurt.
