From Wikipedia:
Æbleskiver (Danish, meaning apple slices (singular: æbleskive)) are traditional Danish pancakes in a distinctive shape of a sphere. Somewhat similar in texture to American pancakes crossed with a popover, Aebleskiver are solid like a pancake but light and fluffy like a popover. The English language spelling is usually aebleskiver or ebleskiver.

Good morning Threadiverse! I'll catch up later...for now "Deep Thoughts With The Long-Eared One" In September, I found SL. It seemed like a neat experiment. Building, scripting, playing in a whole virtual sandbox. Then, of course, there is the avatar..and trying to look as good as possible. And all of this with other people! So I hopped on the forum, intent to float like a cork on the surface, joke, and generally mess around. But a funny thing happened...I got to know you. Each of you...whether by flirting, joking, playing, showing pictures, sharing your day, or just making the odd comment...each one of you have worked your way into my life, making it all the richer through you. Today, as clocks around the world begin chiming in the new year, I can't help but look back at these past few months and smile. I am so thankful to have met everyone here. Thankful that this quirky, frustrating thing called SL exists to bring us together. Thankful that in ways both small and large our lives are forever intertwined because of this thread. And I can proudly say that, with a childlike eagerness, I look forward to what the new year will bring us all. Happy New Year my thread family! eep! Where's the champagne?

Good morning my loverlies! Happy New Year to those of you who are already there and future New Year to all who will be celebrating later. I was stunned to see that Deviant Thread revived when I awoke this morning. It made me rather reflective as it stirred up many emotions of this past year for me. A few of you here know that I've been through much this past year both in RL and in SL (Maureen particularly - who has been an amazing friend and would have met in person already if life had not made it so difficult). That thread was the turn-around in many ways of my personal life, because it's how I initially met Ghosty. And of course, more of you know it led to us meeting in RL and eventually realizing how strong our emotions were for each other and; Voila! Now we're happily ensconsed in a home together Life, still isn't perfect (is it ever?) but so much better for having him in it. And, much better too, for having all of you in it as well. This thread has kept me amused, entertained, informed, and best of all I've made good friends from it as well and gotten to know others better that I didn't before. Thank you all, for being as wonderful as you are. May each and everyone of you have a wonderful, healthy, and blessed New Year! /me sends xoxoxo's to everyone!

From: Kaimi Kyomoon Problem solved. Husband and son can put it away. Son would stand there going ... uhm - where does this go? He is not stupid - he is in fact, brilliant- he knows if he does this long enough I will do whatever just to make him stop. Besides the fact that he has not yet mastered folding.. yeah i know- it's just another way of getting uot of it and no, I'm not doing him a favor by doing it but it is easier on my nerves . However he knows mommy actually does have a point where he discovers he went too far- I seem to have an on and off- not a gradual to boiling point- when you hit the mark it's too late to turn back- now i just need him t figure out it is safer for him not to do that . As for husband putting away laundry- uhm, no.. not good idea, let's just say he would not be real happy with me.

If he figures it out, let me know how. I still waiting for the ADHD 16yr old to figure it out.

Getting kids to do stuff they didn't think they wanted to do was my job, before I retired, when I was working in the classroom with kids with various emotional and learning disabilities. But at home I was just lucky that the kids never had a problem doing their own laundry. (And I was never the kind of selfless person who would even have gotten involved with a man who couldn't take care of himself.)

From: Brenda Connolly Crap, it snowing. Was in NYC earlier too but stopped. They said it wasn't going to be much of anything but then Ghosty called me and said they changed the forecast to 8-10 inches? Is this true now? Crap for sure if so. I'm wearing sneakers and have no umbrella with me because when I left for work, they were only calling for a dusting here.
