From: Elora Lunasea Was in NYC earlier too but stopped. They said it wasn't going to be much of anything but then Ghosty called me and said they changed the forecast to 8-10 inches? Is this true now? Crap for sure if so. I'm wearing sneakers and have no umbrella with me because when I left for work, they were only calling for a dusting here. weather.com still has just a dusting for NYC. Here though is 3-6. I say again... Yay! It's Snowing!

From: Kaimi Kyomoon I<SNIP> And I was never the kind of selfless person who would even have gotten involved with a man who couldn't take care of himself.) When husband and I first moved in together- 18 years ago- he would serve himself his dinner, clear his own place at table, do his own laundry etc. I, being raised in a family where my mother always served my father and took care of his needs re laundry and what ever else he needed at home, you know, button sewing, bill paying, etc. soon disabused husband of such notions. I do not mind at all serving him his food and taking the dishes away and the laundry and household stuff. Kepe in mind also he is never home as his job takes him away so it is honestly very wrong of me were I to expect to do for himself things I can take care of. I will not however, mow the grass though I am quite capable of and have when the need arose and he could not meet it for what ever reason. Son takes out garbage and helps husband with lawn. Husband loves to cook and when he does he even at times does those dishes. So no, I do not really mind it- I was complaining to myself because I know I should have but didn't. Not a problem though, since I did do it before leaving this morning and he wil still come home to a clean home and fresh clothes.

Ok, curious what's on everyones New Years agenda?
Ghosty and I are laying low. He'd been sick the past few days and at least awoke today feeling a lot better but we've decided to just stay local. Probably going to the movies, and then heading home to ring in the New Years with some champagne and snacks. Or if feeling a bit industrious will head over to the Irish bar down the block (which has become a favorite of ours) and have a beer with the locals after the movie for a bit. Whatever the case, won't be inworld, decided to forego the Cartel party this year so to all who will be there, have a wonderful time and can't wait to see the pix!

(However, I am not smiling about the high wind warning in effect until 10 pm tonight. I live near a transformer, and often lose power during these windy times. *looks worried*)

Well,I will be kidless tonight. So I was thinking of going out into the real world for a bit. But nature has others plans, since it is busy dumping a bunch of snow on us right now. So I'll be home getting drunk, probably in world for a bit and then passing out after visiting my bathroom. Yay.

No plans. I'm not much of a New Year's person, most times I never even see the ball drop.
I'm doing some cooking for tomorrow's trip to Mom's, tonight I will probably order Chinese and do some heavy movie watching. It's going to be very cold tonight, and it's snowing now, so I'll stay home on "Amatuer Night".

I was SO relieved to find out Ghosty isn't into doing any big thing for it either. For all I know, we may wind up just watching the "Planet of the Apes" marathon instead

Happy New Year Forum Regs!
12-31-2008 09:28
Thought I'd pop into this thread for the first time to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Although I generally lurk, I have found answers to many questions here in the forums and plenty of amusement as well. Thanks for making my first 6 months inworld - can it possibly be that long??! - a great learning experience. Stay safe and warm. Snowing fast and furious in my RL, too. The snow on my sim magically melted away the other day, though...

I will be ringing in the new year in world. I'm not certain where yet, most likely the hangout. One thing is certain...(power outages permitting) I will be celebrating with a certain Very Important Person.
It's corny, but I wanted to get the same brand of champagne for the toast. Does that make me over-the-edge-loony?

Happy New Year everyone.
My first visit to the Cartel hangout was New Year's Eve last year. My SL changed that day, for sure.
Without a doubt you forum folk are the best thing about my SL. Whatever happens I'll always look back at you guys as one of the good things that came out of my time in SL. Thanks for everything.

From: Amaranthim Talon Son would stand there going ... uhm - where does this go? He is not stupid - he is in fact, brilliant- he knows if he does this long enough I will do whatever just to make him stop. Besides the fact that he has not yet mastered folding.. yeah i know- it's just another way of getting uot of it and no, I'm not doing him a favor by doing it but it is easier on my nerves . However he knows mommy actually does have a point where he discovers he went too far- I seem to have an on and off- not a gradual to boiling point- when you hit the mark it's too late to turn back- now i just need him t figure out it is safer for him not to do that . As for husband putting away laundry- uhm, no.. not good idea, let's just say he would not be real happy with me. I learned about housework assistance from my Dad, who would enthusiastically participate whenever requested by my Mum. Dirty clothing would be folded in drawers and clean laundry recycled into the washing basket, at least one piece of crockery would get smashed during the course of washing or drying up, rugs would get sucked into vaccuum cleaners, and shopping would be put in inappropriate storage places, never to be found again until after the best before date. Pep (Funny, you don't get asked twice . . . and I get hay fever so no gardening either)
