Pressies opened, distant relatives telephoned and wished the best of the season, dinner roasting merrily away, 'My Fair Lady' on the telly (Christmas with Audrey; gotta love it!), and now I'm kicking back with a large glass of brandy and a bag of dry roasted peanuts (!) while I wait for Daros to get online. We had the most wonderful Christmas Eve night together, and today it's more pressies, and then we're going exploring, shopping, and skating :)

I made some wrapping paper and a Christmas tree.
Met to give them out as freebies but too tired to put them up on Onrez.
If you want to peek or have some free wrapping paper, and Christmas tree either look

Ooof! Nine AM here, and I'm ready to go back to bed. My daughter wanted to get up at seven to open presents... so... groggy but happy, thankful to be home and not at work.

AND... all is not as I expected, but in a good way... no all day in pajamas, first of all! I had to change into my "nice" pajamas for the pictures... friends coming for lunch... so...

It's good, though. I love these friends who are coming for lunch.

My little sister and her fiance will come for the weekend, so it's all very familicious and warm, etc.

Years of working crap jobs and restaurants has totally killed any holiday spirit.

Its just another day now.

The only thing I get joy out of seeing, is my niece & nephew's face at all the stuff they're getting.

The only holiday I'll take a day off for is Halloween. Our house has a rep to uphold :D

Ok, 4th of July is good too! Any holiday that involves blowing things up is perfect!
I always found I got better than usual tips on Christmas Day...I'm sending you some Christmas cheer; maybe you'll feel it at least a little bit.

We aren't doing anything special today just taking it easy and appreciating being together and our many other blessings. Vegetarian Christmas dinner for two later. And eating chocolate.

It's quiet..almost too quiet. :)

I spent the morning decorating cookies. Soon, it's a trip to LL Bean. They brag about being open 24/7/365...yeah...prove it. :D

Well my turkey is in the oven so while we're staying away from the alcohol this early I will admit to partaking in some herbal festivities. I can manage to cook while enjoying that :D

We were also not adverse to polishing off nearly a dozen Dunkin Donuts since I picked them up last night :eek: I have lemon meriangue tarts for after dinner. Brownies are sounding good too. I have a boxed mix I can make. Even a caramel banana muffin mix from Williams Sonoma if we really get the munchies.

Ah, a quiet day at home with nothing pressing to do but eat. Loverly!
