Actually kind of surprised because it was a walking billboard advertisement for SL. All posts came to the conclusion that SL is better then anything else out there right now.

Yeah that! It really was a pro SL thread.

I haven't yet. :D I think that thread actually was in LL's best interest to leave up. It hardly said "Run to X grid because it is better then SL". What do I know though?
I understand what you are saying Mac (it is nice to see you btw :)) but the people there were hardly talking about SL in glowing terms and as I said to Jesse just because the competitor is not as good, does not mean one day it will not be and so discouraging those kinds of discussions might be in their best interests later.

Having said that *I personally think* being able to talk about the other grids is a good thing, though it is much better when it is not in the context of "I hate SL, is there anything better out there".

In NZ we don't have any thing like Thanksgiving so it's just an ordinary week for me.

Isn't tomorrow send Mac the "private photos file" day in NZ?

I agree totally. As someone who went to see if the grass was greener for more than an hour I can attest.. LL has this thing bagged, tagged and spray painted gold when it comes to stability, features, advertisements, word of mouth, employees.. holy crap!!! Look at me, a SL defender. Woo Hoo!!

Oh, and I am going to continue checking the others out, blogging about them asking questions, etc etc etc. But to be honest right now I am just stoked as heck to be able to run my own sims on my computer.. not connected to anything, just me in a quiet and lonely playground. Yes, that sounds rather anti-SL in spirit but to be honest it is amazing how much creativity comes out when
1. It is for yourself solely.
2. Nobody is watching.
3. When it turns out nobody is there to tell you who did it before and how much better it was. :D

Nope.. point to a name of any competitor. That thread was specific about who it was advertising. This is not specific nor is it advertising for others to go there. It is simple analyzing of why something was.
1. Removed.
2. Re-affirming that LL is the cheese standing alone cause none of the others can touch them.

And stand alones do not compete against LL either as they run on your own PC.

BUT having said all that I will drop it for future posts.

lmao, though I have been working terribly hard in RL (yeah right!) it is mostly SL that has kept be busy working too. In world businesses and projects don't complete themselves you know :( I guess I have to put the prims away a bit and come out to play more.

When SL becomes more work over play it can become boring. :(

Yes, if I were your SL DR. After a thorough exam (eyes glaze over a sec) what was I saying? OH!! After a thorough exam... exam..ex.. GAH!!

I would tell you after that other thing to go have a little fun! You need it. :)

Today I went to Maureen's house (she was not home) and I did something I have never done before.. just played with the windlight settings. I mean, I have selected them and messed about but today I really went through them on her beach.

I think I am finding that magic again. The magic when you first find SL, before you go to the forums and hear all the negativity.. the part where you just go, wow. Silly, I know.. but as you know that is a process that for me is next to a miracle. :P

And thanks for that welcome back up there. I missed you too. I know we see each other across the street from time to time.. but something about this place is the only way it feels "like it should". Likely because I met you here.

Ok, since I'm all the way over here in Dear Old Blighty, and officially it is 3 hours into the 27th here, I'm going to wish all those who celebrate it a Happy Turkey Day.

Meanwhile, since it is just a normal Thursday here, I'm going to go get some sleep, and then dive head first into the Christmas Spirit (yes i know, it's still way early).

Ohhh, and I had to share this....got told this earlier, thought it was hilarious...

Thanks for that :)

Glad you and Mo had fun. I don't think I have ever seen you in world yet - hope to one day though :)

I try not to fall into the cycle of letting the things that upset me here put me off SL either, sometimes it is harder than at others.

Yeah I know what you mean, this place is special even if some of the people running it and some of the in it are idiots from time to time (me included). :)

Really glad you are back *hugs*

Hey Alley!! Thanks.. I missed you too.

It is great being home though. I know the forums have that light blue look and same banner that has been here FOREVER... but despite it's shortcomings here and there it really does have some of the nicest people in SL.

She wasn't home. So I took the opportunity to send her offline IMs telling her about doing everything from playing with her poseballs (that bed is pretty innocent looking.. but OY!), trying on her underwear and then telling her to wash her toothbrush. :P I hope she knew I was kidding... mostly. :p

And we gotta meet in world sometime. I saw you at one hangout shin dig but you were not there long.

*hugs you back tightly*

Oh.. and yeah, there are numb skulls about but you are not one. :) Those type don't like shiny happy threads they only stay in the dark ones. Anyone that has been in here for a little bit has to be a good one.
