I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Lil, your first pic - I no can see. :(
Yeah, one minute it is there for me and the next it is not. If I 'edit' the post, then it shows again for a short bit.

I'll modify it to post the url also.

ETA - I decided to save it and upload it to my photobucket page and use that image, which now seems to work.

well, i'm at my turkey day destination, and i'm the only female in the joint. turkey's in the oven, the menfolk are watching football, and i'm suddenly bored.

so, i decided to come play SL, forum style.

man, last night i had the scariest drive of my life. what should have taken 2-3 hours was well over 4 hours, because the pass had snow (they should have closed it) and we were doing about 10 mph for a better part of the drive. i was driving, but i started a scared-out-of-my-wits panic attack so i had to bail and get in the back seat with the dog. i was so frikkin scared. but hubby got us through safe n sound, and i just made sure i didn't look outside. we're talking curves and cliffs and 200' drops in places, and no rails - in icy/snow conditions. frightening! i really don't want to go home that way, so i hope the pass is closed so there's no debate about it. i don't think my heart can take that twice in 2 days.

anyway, Happy Thanksgiving to you Americans.

fab. i do love rain, especially warm rain.

it snowed here last night where i am. i think i need to relocate to a more viable climate for my personal taste.... such as so cal. :p

From: 3Ring Binder
i actually considered walking at one point, but hubby wouldn't stop to let me out. i admit to freaking out, and it got real loud in the car - i hate having no control. you think? LOL
When I was a cab driver in Kansas I made my best money during ice storms - when no one wants to drive their own car. And I also drove on ice a lot when I lived in Northern England - curves, steep slopes etc. But I think I can imagine just how you feel. Refuse to get in the car again until whoever is driving promises to go home a different way. Meanwhile eat lots of goodies and enjoy the indoor warmth. :) The rain has stopped now here and the sun is shining, the sky is blue with fluffy white clouds. Happy Thanksgiving!

Eek, Lil! I couldn't see your first piccie initially either. But I went back and now it's showing up. That could give a person nightmares! Cool image even so.

My sweet potatoes are assembled and it's time to drive to the ex-wife-in-law's house. Y'all have a happy Thanksgiving (those who are celebrating it)!

i think that's a safe idea if you have the option. very smart.

we drive in ice and snow every winter here, just not on roads as tightly curved, as steep a downgrade, and with a 200' drop off if you mess up. i couldn't actually see the drop offs, but i've driven the pass enough times over the years that i know what is there - and not there.

i am usually the driver, because i am a very poor passenger. i have this bad phobia about heights and pain and water... so any combination is sure recipe for a panic attack for me. unsafe. i can hardly bear to cross a bridge, especially if it is over water.

heck, even when my av is falling i get stomach churning vertigo. wierd, but true.

(edit: samples of what we see when we drive this pass. i did not take these pictures:

hi hi happy turkey day to you, too.

ok. i can't get inworld til i get home. can only access the forums from here. i trust your judgement, cuz you know what i don't want. as long as no naughty bits are showing, i'm sure it's fine. if i don't like it, i'll just put a prim over the parts that are concerning. so no worries for now. :D

any luck there lately? i have had NO sales for days now. sux.

Two hours of forum prime time here without a post to this thread hopefully means everyone is having a wonderful feast. To everyone not in the US: Happy Thursday!

I have never met a turkey I did not love.

Anyone ever tried a turducken? Heavenly!

Deep fried turkey? Melts in your mouth and sooooo moist!

Moisture and turkey usually don't go hand in hand without at least some mechanical assistance. Have tried so many variations over the years and have settled on using an injector the last few. This year I decided to embrace old school. I rubbed oil on the outside and spiced with sea salt and fresh ground lemon & tellicherry pepper. Yes, the turkey was on the dry side but OMG it was wonderful and I received glowing reviews from both my puppy dog and my daughter when she came back home. First time I can remember when I even left the gravy off the turkey.

After fours trips back to grab another slice or two over a period of 5 hours and I can confidently say I am still supremely satisfied. Sliced thin with just a dash more salt and pepper. Woohoo.

Here is hoping everyone is having a relaxing stress free evening.

Marianne, I had you in my thoughts when I said thanks.

In another forum, someone posted a picture of a turbaconducken - a turducken wrapped in bacon. It looked and sounded rather disgusting, IMO, and I just could not quite figure out why someone would do that.

I avoid most fried foods so have never had a deep fried turkey. Hubby stays up all night tending ours on the smoker -- comes out melt in your mouth, fall of the bones, moist.
