re: migraines, i have not done a cat scan thing, but they want me to. however, i can totally identify in advance when i'll have one, this one just came early and threw me on my arse. i was taking 3 vicodin and 8 ibuprofen at one sitting, every 4 hours, and it was still extremely painful. it was the worst one i've ever had.

didn't stop me from talking politics tho. LOL

Well what was the job? Maybe we could all do it for 15 minutes a day or something. When I was a beef packer, a job that is pretty much pure physical exertion, I ate two modest meals a day.
I was at the next stage in the equation for a while. The refrigerated warehouse was prolly 4k calories a day. They paid by the box, so to make any decent money you had to push yourself as hard and fast as possible. The 6k recommendation was when I was in the freezer (-17*F). The boxes where lighter, but I think 2k or more was just going directly into the body trying to maintain 98.6. I don't see memberships to "freeze your a-- off" health clubs being a big hit. :)

Ah. I can only imagin. It was cold enough for me in fabrication - just above freezing. Almost everyone else kept warm by working but even though I was doing the same work I used to start out with a sweater and have two sweaters and a ski jacket by the end of the shift and still be shivering when I left. Still didn't need that much food though.
