Jack... Get your mind out of the gutter. There are lots of valid reasons for an adult to play a child avatar that have nothing to do with kiddie porn. I know several child avs, but my favorite is Miss Marianne McCann. Mari is a really delightful five year old girl, who makes me feel very much like an admiring aunt. That's a nice way to feel, and I thank her for it...especially because I don't have any nieces in RL. As far as people playing avatars that are different from themselves...I've said this before, but I'll keep making the point. Your avatar in SL is your choice, chosen to represent YOU. Whether it is like your Real Life body is completely irrelevant, and that is, IMO, one of the very best things about SL: We can choose who we want to be. It's a unique freedom. _____________________

I'm fine with it as long as they don't do anything sexual or abusive with the avatar.
I mean, yeah, having a child avatar is a little strange, but some people want to relive that experience/create a new one... Without building a time machine, and, in a way, Second Life does exactly that. (Hence the name, I suppose) As long as I don't see a child running around with a collar around his neck and some dude holding his leash, I have no reason to pull my guns out and go on a fetish-smashing rampage. (... Metaphorically speaking... Or am I?) |

Hey, I think Jack is on to something.
In fact, why not ban kids from the real world too - after all, having all those kids running around just gives perverts and predators an opportunity to think perverted, predatory thoughts. I mean, I'm not saying everyone would, but all it takes is one and they are out there. I don't mind animals and stuff but all those children out in the real world are just asking someone to prey on them. So why not just vote to keep them out? _____________________

They are sick bastards that should be punished by.....I dunno...being made to study the Tao of Linden perhaps.....but 99% of the kid avs are just that. Kids doing in SL what kids do in RL...making adults frazzled. Except for Imnotgoing....I don't even want to begin to speculate on what he/she/it does.....  _____________________
