The OP really needs to get a grip on things and decide if they are buying into the fantasy or not, playing the game or not. If not then desist with the unnecessary drama already.
Also WTH is going on with all these "don't like vampires" threads recently, it's a definite case of gross generalising like "we don't like furries, neko, goreans etc..." seriously uncool and stupid as not everyone in those roleplays are the same, just...just...stupid. oh noes...the humanity...wife was "bit" (aka animated and emoted against, then registered in an off world database - after agreeing to it) and now is tainted... *sings* Tainted Love... Well, I think the database also claims the vampire has your soul or something, but I believe mine resides with my typist. I bought someone's soul for 100L$ and a texture a few months back. If I can find it in my inventory, maybe the Bloodlines people would like to trade. _____________________

No, it's not a big deal. But it's not right that noobe's are being targeted simply because they're an easy prey, as myself was - then put, unknowingly on someone's RP database which they would rather not be. There's also something about forcing another avatar into a RP they don't subsribe to through deciet. Has anyone here accepted a dance animation from a friend? This is what my wife was expecting. Asking for a bite through IM is fine and wouldn't mind. But if I were to start a Ted Bundy RP and target noobs it would just be wrong. You're right, these things are improper. The solution would be to educate Bloodlines participants, which would be the responsibility of those who recruit them or accept them into the RP. The solution to those who would continue to misbehave would be for their peers to remove them from the RP. Neither of those things happens in the forums, but you might want to take it to whomever is important in that particular universe. It might add a certain frisson to their game if one could be charged with Conduct Unbecoming a Vampire, and sentenced to un-Undeath. If it's a big deal to non-players to be added to the database, how much worse would it be for a player to be removed from it? Just a thought. |

As soon as I get the drop on you, though, you're one of us. Incidentally, and completely seriously, anyone who has been in a river with a large salmon run after the run is over but before the fish are actually dead has probably seen the closest thing on earth to a zombie. It's creepy. The fish are blind, twisted into weird shapes, ropes of decaying flesh hanging off of them. It's pretty smelly, too. _____________________

 Zerock ...the fact that you have taken the time needed to make posts here to say how upset you are about this tells me its had some effect on you . The fact that you actualy went looking for a cure allso tells me something else ... but i will keep my thoughts on that to myself Bottom line is this .... It happend .... its no big drama .,Yes your woman was decived ... but lets get some perspective into this ..... i have a feeling your problem is more with the friend . try and look at the simple side of this ... SL = virtual world = not real Rp vamps = not real Avatar souls = not real Hurt feelings = REAL What you have to ask yourself here is.. Why are YOU hurt ...if it was your (SL ) wife that was tricked ? Is it that she was tricked ...OR had some kind of interaction with another man ? What i'm getting at here is ... Whats happend is NOT a problem .... How you are reacting to it IS the problem . so you need to ask yourself a few quetions about WHY ?.... And what am i going to do to STOP the problem ?  Um wow....I don't even know what to say except I have the overwhelming urge to burst out in hysterical laughter at the very idea that anyone takes anything being 'done to' their avatar seriously. Ok...ok...I know.....for some the immersion is much more personal and emotional and so on.....but still .... avatars are just pixels on a screen....granted they all look really amazing and cool and there's some amazing technology and scripting and so forth that makes all this so fascinating and addictive..... but whoa....seriously...it's a computer moniter with a little pixel character being controlled by a live human being who is quite literally not affected by anything that happens to said avatar....other then the visual...and how we interpret what we're seeing on the screen......baby...we can disconnect any time we want and get on with our regularly scheduled lives. Really.....come on....blood lines....bite list..... Now...if some wack job shows up at my RL door looking like a vampire and tries to bit me....then...and only then would I 'react' with more then a shrug or a laugh. And at that, I might still laugh. |
