Your other assumptions may be true for some, but I really don't think so. Based on my own experiences, it was necessary to really get into the roleplay in order to do it well.

granted there are social implications... men who have lots of sexual encounters are viewed positively (in general) by their peers, while women get all sorts of nasty labels. try to think of a positive label women get from it, then list the ones men get....

but, with the advent of birth control, there are vitually no negatives that don't apply on direct personal level to both men and women equally...

All that struggling in the 60s to get rid of tacky labels and strive for equality across the board seems to have come to naught when 40+ years on, people insist on perpetuating the stereotype of male stud/female slut.
