Derailment time. Whores don't give it away free, by definition. Sluts don't get high marks when being certified by fish if they wear clothing (I know, I tried). Although you might find one giving it away free.

If you just must establish a pay scale, I'd say, from low to high: Sluts, whores, prostitutes, escorts. And add "courtesan" on top of all of them. But I don't think it really works that way. The terms are too interchangeable, depending on circumstances and how demeaning the speaker is trying to be.

Back to the escorting for a moment, because inquiring minds want to know.

The OP mentions them sitting around, waiting for business. IS there actually much trade in this? I mean, geez, you don't have to spit far to land on someone ready to hand it all over for free, whether you happen to want it or not.

So who actually hires hookers in SL? Those who really can't write and/or type well enough (in any language) to attract a willing ($free) partner? Those who prefer to read rather than type during the act? Newbies?

This question also applies to male escorts. I was waiting alone for my date in a bar when someone IMed me to let me know he has male company for hire. Does it really get so desperate, in this environment where females (of any gender) heavily outnumber males, that a lady has to pay for her date?

I can't imagine the process to be very much fun if someone is paid to do this, rather than cares about the person they're with (but I guess that's true for prostitution in any environment, and probably different for women, if I may stereotype).

All I can say is this conversation is WAY over my head...and kind of hard to follow...

The escorts I have talked to think about (and vocalize) a number of things...

* Getting a better skin and hair
* How business is very slow
* Global warming
* Inner squabbling among the other escorts and management staff
* How do you want me honey?
* Wow what a hunk you are Graph!
* Where have you been all my life?
* Politics and weather
* Getting through college
* hoping their children don’t wake up right now
* How much they love and enjoy their work
* How they are not in it for the money
* Just killing time and killing it while doing something they enjoy
* And thousand other things I did not mention

So I take it they think about mostly what we all think about, it’s just that many of us tend to make distinctions among ourselves, putting people in different classes.

Some (not all) of my good friends are either dancers or escorts of which I enjoy talking to about everything. At least one of the differences is they don’t have as many prudish hang-ups as ‘the rest of us’, and are much easier to talk to about most any subject (it may surprise many that they talk about more than just sex)...

I am another that cannot understand paying for what so many want to give away for free. I was more confused before someone told me that they figured it was quality they were paying for, assuming escorts to be of higher talent in the art of slex. On one hand I can understand that, women go to men escorts because an escort (when doing their job properly) is supposed to make them feel desired, taken care of, pleased...where as the random joe at club xyz is looking to rock his own pixels. The same might be said the other way around, of course, but I can only speak from a womans POV.

Then again, the 'client' might just be wanting something fast n to the point without having to work for it. *shrugs* People still baffle me lol
