I think the biggest thing I have learned, is that the people of any country, that I maybe did not like before. Are all the same as me. The same fears, the same hates, likes and dislikes.
For example, I wasn't too keen on the French or Germans.
That has all changed. There are no stereotypes. We are maybe conditioned to disliking one nation or another. Usually because of a period of history between two countries.
The French, and Germans that I have met, are the same as any other people. Some doughnuts, some truly wonderful, wonderful people.
That is the biggest thing I will take from Second Life. And I truly thank the Lindens for giving me this.

I've traveled a lot in the Real World, so I kind of knew this. The biggest thing I've learnt, is that imo, size of land = length of time in world.

No matter how lofty or idealistic a concept may be, humans will always find a way to Fuck it up.

Modern science tells us that space and time are the same thing. Makes sense.

promises are like wind, it allways comes and allways leaves
promises by LL are like bad comidians, they keep coming and endup in their faces (boo`s or <insert fav vegi>
No matter how bad you think SL has been, it can allways get worse...
Linden Dollars are fictional, transaction failures aren`t

doing business in sl is wonderfull, while dreaming
being in second life gives you the real defenition about alot of stuff that never got into the dictionary, lag, bugs, offline, promises, fix (fixing), support, satisfaction, disillusion (illusion) and alot more...

I learned that I didn't know my true self as well as I thought. New me's keep popping out in new situations.

* Cherish and learn from the people you call your family: treat every day like it's the last

* Even the deepest friendships can unravel

* There's a difference between being childish and being child-like

* Nearly everyone eventually comes back

* There are no limits: simply things that haven't been done yet

* Many like to complain; few like to act on their complaints

* When people are given freedom to create, creativity flourishes

* Some people never make it past "newbie." This is okay.

* Everyone makes their own Second Life.

* Sometimes you don't choose what to do in SL; sometines SL chooses you

* You can't escape your passions.

The single thing I've learned? That individually we may be very smart, but as a community we are completely irrational and filled with vituperation...

And then blame someone else.

No seriously, folks.

I've learned that there is still plenty of room in SL and RL, for innovation. In nearly every aspect of our lives.

Everyone has an opinion and everyone claims their perspective is correct. After all, SecondLife didnt really exist till they appeared in-game.

What Is The Single Biggest Thing You Have Learned From Your Time In Second Life?

Been in SL since 2005 - biggest thing I have learned is:
Every time there is an update - SL just gets more 'sloppy' and 'laggy'.

lol!

Wow. Coming from a Bostoner, that says a lot. You could just visit Hyannisport. Or watch C-Span.....
