How do you put your avatar away for the night

Lets say your boffing some hooker on a parkbench at 3am one night, then you log out. Logging back in to your last location at 3PM the next afternoon to find a folk concert going on, and you with no pants, could get you arrested. Least you should do is land in your own house every day to avoid potential difficulties.

That's when you type in Infohub names to the login region space. 50% of everyone who passes through those places is starkers.

Since I mostly prefer my SL to be as disconnected from RL as possible, I just dump my avi at whatever random location she's finds herself. So she's got herself into a tricky situation? Bad luck. She can't remember where she's going to log back in? Shame. No clothes in a busy shopping mall? Her problem. The joy of SL for me, on the whole, is in NOT emulating RL... ah, but wait a minute... no, we won't mention the time I woke up and couldn't remember where I was...

Amen to that. Every time my home region is down I get sent to one of the big newbie areas like Ahern. What a freakin' zoo!!! Half the people are naked, everyone has bling turned up full blast, people are screaming at each other, nothing will rez and it's a giant push fest. Bleah!

I live at a fairly quiet infohub, and even there it's hilarious watching people pop in and out. Most people are pretty normal, but some just blow you away. One guy popped in the other day with the title "King of SL" over his head, wearing full royal regalia - crown, scepter, gilded breastplate, fur robes, etc.

"God dang", I thought. "I had no idea we were a monarchy!!" I thought it was sort of uncontrolled anarchy with some sort of god Linden class that never really came down off of Mt. Olympus.

Is that the one where I get tied up in a blanket and everyone beats me with bars of soap in pillowcases or is it the one where we all get under a blanket and mess around. I'll show up if it's the latter, but after the Full Metal Jacket Sim, I don't think I could take the former again.

I avoid logging off altogether. The only time Im offline is when I crash. When Im AFK/sleeping I plonk on the busy sign and sit myself down at home.

i turn off my computer and don't give it another thought

It depends on whether or not we will be stayin in world or not..
if we "sleep" in world: tp home, steam/shower, then the mister will do the security rounds and ill slip into something either sexy or flannel, put the hair in rollers,(will someone PLEASE, make a face cream type attachment?it will go so well with my rollers and big fluffly house robe ensem) and then we will crawl in bed.

if not "sleepin" in world: then we do the usual tp home, security check, change the weekly food offering near the rink and or deck and or big screen(seasonal), ill change my clothes for the next day and the mister will strip down to his tats..and well you know the rest

I usually put on my nighty, get in bed, and then log off. First life habits seem hard to break.

I think you're being a bit anal - but that's okay, you wouldn't be you if you weren't (you'd be some version of Trout from that show Sliders where they go to alternate univereses where everything is the same except France rules America or prawns never existed or something like that).


Maggie - I have seen skins that have something simillar to face cream covering the face, but I'm not sure they're quite what you're looking for.

For a long time, my partner and I went to bed together. Cuddeled up, said goodnight and logged off together. On the days when we could not be together for our routine it felt so lonely.

But then I did something stupid.

Now, I go back home to room with no windows, impale myself on a spike and just walk away. It logs me out after awhile I suppose.

I like to get an alt to lock him in a cage, then balance a heap of Havok 1 physical mega prims pecariously balanced above rigged to the gate, so he can't get up to anything while I'm not watching

Social Alt: TP Home, walk around to see what the wife (SL and RL) has done to the place, make sure she gets rave reviews for decorating, check About Land for any prims from unknown people (live on a quiet sim, so I rarely find anything and leave building open for my wife and too lazy to set up a group, etc. , etc.), log out.

Business Alt (Ty): TP Home (my shop), check both parcels (shop and store) for unwanted prims, though I typically leave building on only for group, check to see what projects I've left around the shop, check the mystitool to see if anyone's in the store I might want to say "Hi" to, check for any remaining IMs, log out.

Exploring Alt: Typically just hit the "X" button and call it a night. Pick up exploring where I last logged off.

Clothes? Pttttt. I'm a guy. I just wear the same outfit until my wife or a business associate tells me I really need to get out and go shopping.

My offline ritual is to download the previous day's transaction log for the business and update my list of customers and my sales spreadsheet sometime during the day.

I have a little bit of a ritual...

I tp by my little shop to check things out - if any sales were made I replace the empty spot with something new.

Then I tp home, usually will take off my shoes and put on slippers (lol) sit on my porch and turn on the weather machine, right now the obvious choice is of course snow! While I sit there I do a bit of inventory organizing while listening to the nature sounds, which change according to the time of day. Then I log.

Oh, sometimes I change into jammies and sit in the window petting my cat.

If I don't crash(Like I just did) I just X out after saying any goodbyes. I login at my home the next time, and change clothes or whatever.

is the game even working tonight? ive been trying to log in for about 30 min and i just keep getting "logon failed"

I'm one of those who likes to TP home before logging out too (except tonight when I crashed in the process). I used to go through my inventory and dress for the next day, but that has gone by the wayside.

My alt, on the nights she spends with her BF, goes to sleep with him and then gets dressed before logging out.

do a ctrl-shift-h, if necessary (my 'home' is my work platform high up in the sky, so i don't care how i look), check my im window for those ims i've accidentally ignored (i do wish persistent im windows over sessions in SL) and just close the viewer.

I crash heavily, look at the RL clock and call it a night.
