I just log out after closing any IM convo I'm in. I always log in at "home" so it's always the same logging in. I change clothes there when I log in.

At the very least, I try and remember to get dressed if I'm with my someone special. After finding myself in a few compromising situations in my startup screen, I finally got that through my head. And, I started to TP home too. Never want to show up in someone's place, unless you know you have every right to be there for the long haul
Don't even want to show up in the Hangout the next morning. That doesn't look good either. I have a home, I know how to find my way back there ![]() If I am home, alone, I do tend to sort of walk the property, look around, make sure everything is ok. Kind of like I'd do in RL now that I think about it. Might change my clothes, go outside, listen to the ocean, go up on the roof and look at the stars for a while. Sort of a relaxing ritual before I had to RL bed. _____________________

Two shots of Scotch and a Valium usually does it for me. Morgaine and I usually go back to Bagg End, say our night nights and log out back to ICQ which we always have in case of crashes. We met in text only so we kinda still say our last night nights in text only. My alts get left anywhere ![]() This is largely due to usually being exploring somewhere when sleep makes its final demand ... mid-morning ![]() _____________________

I usually go home before I log out, although I'm set to log in at my home so it doesn't make much difference. Occasionally I have been know to get undressed and climb into bed before I log out but usually I wait until after. It's like I try, at least occasionally, to do things like eat and drink while online, though that usually happens 'offstage'! LOL

I always TP home, too. For various reasons, I have my login set to last location, and I hate logging in and standing there gray and bald in a public venue... lol.
I finish my coversations... may say goodnight to anyone I missed earlier, and sometimes scroll back through an IM, reliving the night a little... I quite like having a little ritual. I do the same in RL, spend a few minutes reviewing the events of the day before sleep. |

I generally tidy up and make sure things are done or "set aside" if I'm in mid-build, even when I know no one's going to tinker with it, it just bothers me to leave my pixels laying around.
![]() I also prefer to log out at my home location--logging in to a busy shop or something can be disconcerting before I've had my coffee, after all. _____________________

I make sure my zipper is up and TP home, and close down all my windows and huds. That way I can start fresh the next day, and set up my av for whatever trouble he's getting into that day.

Quote the opposite. I be where I need to be if I need to be there, but otherwise I'll log out anywhere. I don't worry about inventory, though I do try to close up any IM's going on.

And...this is where it gets nutty...I take a nice candle-lit bath in the jacuzzi bathtub and then get into jammies. I then hop into bed. Crazy perhaps, but comforting! ![]() I don't think this is nutty at all. I've spoken with others about this phenomenon that I've noticed in SL. There are certain things that you can do that are so immersive that you actually get a physical reaction to them. A lot are intimate types of things, but a lot have to do with relaxing. I swear, I've felt someone's hand on my arm when they caress me in SL, and when I settle down into a big chair in front of a fire in SL, there's a sense of relaxation that washes over me in RL. It's WEIRD. I can feel someone in my arms when we dance, etc. I have no explanation for it, but I know I'm not alone, because other people have told me that they get the exact same reaction. I can see where a soak in a hot tub for your avatar would help relax you in RL, although, maybe not as much as a soak in a nice hot jacuzzi tub in RL would. _____________________

My login default is my home location so if I need to log out in a hurry I'll just quit wherever I am.
If time is not of the essence however, I will TP home, then do a little walkaround or flyaround to make sure things are all in order around the place, maybe pop up to the workshop or over to the mall and just generally enjoy the quiet peacefulness of the SL night air, before logging out. -Atashi _____________________

I go home before logging off too. It doesn't feel right somehow to just go "poof" wherever I am. I also like to put away anything I've left lying around in my yard, boxes and posing stands and whatnot, before turning in for the night. Often when my brother and I are both logged on in the evening (he lives in a different state in RL, but we share a plot of land in SL, so it's family bonding for us), one of the reasons I TP home is to say goodnight to him - but we've found ourselves both TP'ing home to say goodnight and log out even if we've been somewhere in SL together.

Most nights my partner and I will log off at the same time, at home, in one of our favorite kissing poses. That way, it's the first thing we see the next time we log in.

TP home with the missus, we get into jammies (well, boxers for me, she wears PJs), and crawl into the sex bed that has 100s of positions and all we ever seem to do is spoon. Old marrieds, we are. It is an odd ritual, I agree with that.

I do something similar, Trout....tp home, put away any inventory I've purchased during that session, say goodnight to anyone I'd been IMing recently, then log off. Ann's always dressed unless I've been taking pics for slut consideration, so that's not an issue.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things. Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut. |

I like to poof home first and change clothes for the next day. Empty inventory trash....
I never log off naked - SL would have to crash. And even then, I'd log right back in and get dressed if I was going offline for the night. _____________________

if I am talking to someone I say good bye and with a poof I am gone
no ritual or anything like that clothing change when I get the whim (I remember when I was a newb I used to think the avatar was persistant when you logged out, until my friend on skype told me that the avatar disappears when people log off) heh _____________________

I didn't so much mean that Trout is running around naked, but more that I check to see if he's all squared away - shoes on, hair attached to head instead of butt, etc. We all know what tp'ing can do to attachements. I also detach any huds I've been using, although I leave the AO on. For some reason, it just doesn't feel right not to have everything in order when I log off for the night. Maybe I just want to hit the ground running when I log on next time and I don't want to be messing with all kinds of stuff I could have cleared up last time. It's like when the final bell rings at school - kids don't want to have to do a bunch of stuff before they go, they just want to hit the door at a dead run and start playing.
Actually, if I had a house, I would probaby put Trout to bed before I logged off. LOL - maybe I need a blanket to put on him at the Infohub Chair he occupies. That would be pretty cool. A blanket and a pillow. I could tuck him into his little indigent home and sign him off. _____________________

Nice post, Trout. Thank you for asking.
For me, logging off for the night is kind of elaborate as well. I usually have my dads or my babysitter get me ready for bed... this involves all the stuff you make an 8-year-old do before bed... PJ's, wash and brush. I act all this out. I even have a toothbrush with animations! Sometimes there is a story... and i get tucked in by the grown-up in charge. Then after the lights are out I shout for a glass of water. The whole thing takes a lot of time.. 15 minutes.. but i enjoy it very much. Logging off during the day i usually just return home (my bedroom) and stand in one place. I also make sure I am dressed with at least underwear, in case the next time i'm logged in my home region is down, and I wind up at an infohub or welcome area. _____________________

I almost always TP home and then make sure I am wearing something suitable for a PG sim. Although I always log in to Home, there have been a few times when SL has decided to put me elsewhere - once it was a PG sim and I was damn near naked.
