How much would you pay for an existing Charter account?

Selling and transferring accounts is verboten. Ergo the price would be: nil.

What is a Charter account? Why would it be something someone would pay for?

What is a Charter account? Why would it be something someone would pay for? Charter accounts are entitled to 4096 of land without fees for life. |

Oh. Thanks. Unless I could still be me with all my stuff I'd say not interested at any price. But I want to be Lil. I have established myself with this name and I like the me that is here. I would like to be able to buy the charter benefits maybe, but I want this name and account. _____________________

Yeah, that is my problem. I would love to have the L$500 per week stipend rather than L$300, and the 4096 tier free for life, and if the account is old enough and took advantage of some of the special deals, they might not even pay any sort of Premium membership fee anymore. But I want to be Lil. I have established myself with this name and I like the me that is here. I would like to be able to buy the charter benefits maybe, but I want this name and account. Charter account holders do not have to pay a premium fee. |

You could still be you but you would be able to take advantage of the accounts land value. Owning land doesn't interest me, right now. I'm hppy renting. I guess the tier could be rented out and the stipend would be nice, but I'm sure the lump sum to buy in is more than I would want to pay for somethng SL related. _____________________

Another thought - I might consider paying for the charter account as a secondary account just so I can take advantage of all of the benefits and then drop one or two of my other accounts that I created simply cuz it was cheaper to pay for another premium than bump up my tier level.
I've never thought hard about it though and I'm not sure what that value would be worth. I can say that given the direction LL has taken on a few things in the last year, that I would have paid much more for those charter benefits a year ago than I would now - primarily because I really am not sure there will be an enjoyable SL in another year or so. _____________________

Thank smarty but I have permission from LL. I don't believe you. If there was a legal way to do this, I might be interested. The account needn't be "you", you could just use it as an alt in a land-owning group and harvest the stipend and free tier. But as I said, I don't believe you. _____________________

...primarily because I really am not sure there will be an enjoyable SL in another year or so. That's my big thing. LL seems pretty self-destructive lately and my confidence in them is really at an all-time low.. ![]() _____________________

Given what I pay in tier rental and premium fees for alts, if it was truly LL sanctioned, I would possibly go $200-$250. A year ago, I likely would have considered $500 to be reasonable and possibly even low. That is what LL has done to my confidence in the past year. lol thats why I said only $100 usd.. Linden Lab has killed the value of a charter account hard.. $100 might even be to high now. |
