Yep. They're sad, lonely people who come to SL just to look for fault in anybody that's not a clone of themselves.

Don't bother with them - just mute 'em and go back to shopping. If they just refuse to leave you alone, consider seeing if the shop owner is online and sending them an IM or doing an AR on them.

Get a furry avatar and go wandering IM me in game and I can tell you where to get some nice ones (free and otherwise)

Often enough, ya. I had one th' other night as I biked though the Ahern welcome area, who spotted me an had to go into how revulsed she was by my presence, how someone should kill me, an what a sick F---- me an those who RP kids are and so on. I jes shrugged and moved on (I was having fun riding from Bay City to the Vehicle Sandbox, just cuz), then went ahead and ARed her a bit later.

I met a very unique person who runs a foster home for kid avs looking for families. I found the reason for it to be touching - a lot of these people lost a parent or sibling as a child and seek a little wish fulfillment in SL by playing kids. A way to turn back the clock and get back something they lost. I almost cried irl. I still tear up thinking about it, as I just lost my brother to cancer last year. People need to understand that kid avs are not necessarily sexual fetishes. The ones that ARE sexual ageplayers need to be stamped out, but not the ones that represent innocence, or something precious that was lost.

I don't run around pregnant on account of being a guy and all. But I still remember being pretty new and tp'ing into a club.

I swear, I have no idea who this person was or why she was so mad at me. All I can think is someone with a similar name or something like that was giving her a hard time. I also don't know who she was reporting me to. Club Owner? LL? My parents? Parole officer?

At any rate, by the end I was laughing hysterically. It's usually not funny when someone is that angry, but I didn't do anything and she wouldn't stop with the all caps and cursing long enough to realize that. It was funny.

Maybe she had a bad fishing incident in her youth?

So last night...I got bored...and, as I sometimes do when that happens....I pull up my map to see where a bunch of green dots are. And I will tp there...Kinda like Teleporting Kamakazee. I end up in the ocean outside of someone's house, complete with a ton of ban lines. I come up out of the ocean and am floating in the air, looking at my map for the next location to ck out. Some chick who will remain nameless, but has only been in SL since March, is married and has 5 kids....ahem....Flys out to meet me. I say Hi...she says, Can I help you? I said, nope...sorry...was tping around looking to meet people and ended up here...she says..."Why you looking at my house bit*h?" I said, "Wow, such hostility!" Then I leave but IM her and say she is about the nastiest person I have met on SL in my almost a yr of being here. She says a few other trailer trashy things, and then says, "Tomorrow, while you are not online, I will have your man...hahahahaha"

I was wandering around in my Vampire Girl AV looking at different dance clubs when all of a sudden I get a IM "No Vampire Freaks allowed in here, take your bloodsucking role play elsewhere!" .... actualy it was a lot worse, I left out all the 4 letter words....
next thing I know im banned from the place!

I never said one word, and I dont RP (except maybe some fun light stuff) when Im just looking for a dance. He never gave me a chance to explain myself or change into a human AV.

Sometimes I think people forget there are real people runnng these AV's. It really hurt me to be treated so harshly.

Well, I figgure that some folks jes wanna be mean, ya know? I mean, she did't know me at all, jes saw me come riding up an went on the assumptions that:

a. I'm one of "those icky sexual ageplayers" she heard about on Sky News or wherever, and/or

b. All of SL is about sex, so obviously this person is here for sexual ageplay.

Alternately, it could have simply been\

c. "eew, something different from me! I have no ability to cope! zOMG!"

But some folks just dun seem to do "thing outside my experience" well, I guess.

The cloesest I even came to someone just going off on me was that weird guy I met ages back who decided I was a guy playing a female AV. *shrug*. That ended quickly....I don't tolorate morons...nor do I give them the satisfaction of any kind of reaction.

Most of the time I run around SL looking pretty human and 'normal'. I guess I don't draw too much attention....but I pity the person who does decide to get in my face. I'm about as non-confrontational as they come... but like my dad...hehe....I hav a wicked temper if you happen to find the way to the end of my fuse....and it aint pretty.

Sometimes i'm in a mood...and I sorta wish someone would give me sh**.....just to have an excuse to unload...hehe.....but I don't indulge idiots and I certainly try like hell not to instigate. Hehe...but I do have 2 big guns...and I would use them if the situation called for it.

I never let the haters bother me, I figure they are just overcoming a pathetic RL and online they try to be bigger than they possibly can be in RL So go for it hehehe

The worst I've ever gotten was from an Indian-by-Heritage, Dutch-by-Birth woman who yelled at me, calling me a fake and a fraud because I make saris and I'm not from India. LOL. I didn't bother to point out that she's not either.

No one exactly went off on me, but I've certainly experienced warped ideas about acceptable behavior.

I was using a tiny robot avatar and exploring a fairly cool sci fi sim that was usually deserted (and now doesn't exist). From out of the blue I get an IM. "Hey, you. Come here!" and I did notice a nearby green dot on the mini map.

Right off the bat my hackles are up. I don't respond well to orders - from anybody. But I decided, maybe this was roleplay so I tried to become a robot in my head and responded something like:

Weston: I'm sorry, my obedience node is not programed to respond to your voiceprint profile.

Pushy Jerk: I said come here!

Weston: I'm sorry, my obedience node is not programed to respond to your voiceprint profile.

Pushy Jerk: What are you -- afraid to face me? You're just a %#$^#%

Weston: I'm sorry, my obedience node (etc.)

Pushy Jerk: I help run this sim and I could freeze and ban you, you #$^@ @^ $&&#& @$*&@%^^@&!

This went on for some time until he started bragging about how he'd made me talk to him when I didn't want to talk. I guess he had to settle for that to feel he had some kind of power over me - becasue no freezing ever came. I got bored and TP'd home and got a few more IM's about being afraid and running away.

What a pitiful individual.
